Russia invites Pakistan to invest in Sukhoi Jetliner program.

For sure. This is a very forum that a window let Pakistani understand What China is doing and its capable of. The civilian level communication between people are too rare, should be more and more.

So Russia is seeking investment from a country which begs for everything from others, totally BS and fake news not even worth putting any discussion.

Pakistani government should create stakes by using it as an opportunity to get indulge in relations with Russian Federation. It will be a step forward. GoP can arrange 300-400 million dollars for investment in the Sukhoi SuperJet airliner.

This participation will help us learning something from them. We can depute our MS and PhD scholars from Kamra Aviation City in this project. There should be no limit for learning. We should learn and seek knowledge.

Exactly, we know little about each other but i think one major benefit of CPEC is that there will be more interaction among the people of two nation and this will help us understand each other in a better way and share the info about development.

I knew that the number one supercomputer is in China but I thought it was based on either Intel or AMD. But that's really a pleasant surprise for me to know that it is powered by China's own microprocessor and that is a big achievement.

Yeah, the embargoes always help and even Pakistan develioped missiles after USA put sanctions on Pakistan and did not supply us with the F-16s. Similarly I think USA has banned the sale of supercomputers to Pakistan. In that context this is really big news since Pakistan should get supercomputers from China.

I wish to spend sometime in China like 3-4 months to know the society and development. Here in the west, I don't get much news about China ..

they are mixing up three different project sin opening two lines alone. I doubt even they know what they are referring to let alone YOU.
There were reports about an offer regarding the Sukhoi Super Jet (passenger aircraft) and that is it.

MOSCOW: Russia has invited Pakistan to invest in the Sukhohi Super Fighter Jet project being developed by Russia which is the fifth generation fighter jet project developed by Moscow.

Russian minister for industry and trade Denis Valentinovich Manturov offered Pakistani counter part on the sidelines of St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) held from June 1-3.

Pakistani Minister Jatoi urged Russia to take benefit from Pakistan’s investment friendly policies and the progress made in large-scale industries.

The meeting aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in industrial sector between both the countries. The minister also invited Denis Manturov to visit Pakistan.

Manturov proposed the minister to invest in Sukhoi Superjet Project. He also apprised the minister on financial and other related aspects of the North-South Gas Pipeline Project.

Jatoi assured that he would convey Manturov’s message to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources.

The Minister also briefed the Russian side on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, stable political and economical policies and auto policy of Pakistan.

Denis Manturov showed keen interest in Pakistan’s economic stability and development projects. – NNI

I wolud like to know more about your reasons on why did your rate them like that. Because Rolls Royce is better than GE as far as A/C engines are concerned while GE has a bigger market in power generation.

Rolls Royce atrophied in a lot of their research last decade or so....its starting to show lately:

If they do not do a major course correction from here to 2020 they will end a death spiral (because RnD is make or break in this industry). We already poached a couple top engineers from them earlier this year, their analysis is also quite dreary for RR long term though they say RR is addressing issues in the short term at least to try gain some momentum back.

Whereas if you look at GE, they have done tons of nitty gritty research esp in such overlooked things as lubrication lines during the 90s and its paying handsomely now. Pratt is thus forced to play something unconventional to fight back (geared turbofan)....but RR really needs to make a hand before it is major competitive at the table again.

Trent series has an advantage over the competitions and thus most of the airliners have order Trent-900 and Trent-1000 instead of the competing GP7000 made by a GE and PW together. These are the biggest engines and have a revolutionary design however the corrosion is a problem related to the chemical and high temperature environment but I think RR will overcome it.

Yah but it reminds me of big 3 american car makers resting on their laurels....rather than dynamically researching to stay in the game long term (and fend off japanese and germans). Trent is a legacy platform so of course it will carry its own inertia for a while....for a good long while most likely....but that just means its assured bronze overall.

Bulk of engine throughput made is not in the trent range....rather its for 737 and A320 size aircraft where CFM dominates easily....and PW (esp with IAE) is 2nd....and this is heavy RnD throughput as well compared to larger aircraft (given these are where the margins in performance become razor thin compared to the larger buffer offered for long distance/high capacity aircraft where you can amortise long term spending better).

By total revenue stream (current and projected) the ranking is unsurprisingly also as I listed earlier. Its a question of 2 guys being well represented in all engine size disciplines and one largely focused on only one....which means they are constantly defending their turf but not challenging the others one. Long term means you have to really put in the RnD specialisation to prosper well like that, but I don't see RR doing it to the level needed currently.
