It's been stated here several times, but the offer was in regards to the Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner, not the PAK-FA. Still, not a bad idea if the airliner performs well and if Russia is open to letting Pakistan take on valuable production workshare in production.

Besides being a regional airliner, Pakistan can leverage its domestic market and investment to propel militarized variants of the Superjet 100 in the future.

We could make money through work share. This aircraft also take on roles such as MRTT, MPA and AWAC good option to consider for pakistan .

Similarly new izdeliye 30 engine on T50 has fewer fan and compressor stages than the 117, thus reducing the number of parts compared to its predecessor and generates 107 kN (24,050 lbf) of dry thrust and up to 167 kN (37,500 lbf) in afterburner. So China, Pakistan and Turkey together can jump in the project and co-develop best product in terms of performance and reliability.

It's hard to get TOT from Rudsia, that's why we develop WS15. Due to lack of funds, Russian 5th gen fighter face uncertainty.

Though at limited scale their Helicopters are quite useful but their jets and SAMs are quite unreliable and below par as compared to Western/Us once. Clear examples are usage in Arab Israel wars and now inefficiency in Syria.

Pia just accepted bids for 4 airbus a320s and 2 boeing 737's.

Russia knows we will not do that because PAF/PIA is not interested in that kind of platform and even if it was our financial position will not allow that. But then you ask, Putin is very smart so then why did they make such an offer?

And the answer to that is to counter what he said yesterday about "No tight military ties with Pakistan" (obviously to please the sissy sensitive Indians and their egos) and show his/Russia's seriousness and commitment to have and improve good relations with Pakistan.

Those sams werent top of the line and every weapons performance depends upon how the operators deploy it, not exactly plug n play options... Sams is one field where russians are obvious world beaters...
