Russia delivers 13 Mi-28NE's to Iraq couple months ahead of schedule

In the port of Umm Qasr in southern Iraq on Saturday arrived batch of 13 modern Mi-28N "Night Hunter" production holding "Helicopters of Russia", said the channel "Al-Sumar."

The TV channel said that the Russian military equipment will be used in anti-terrorist operations in Anbar province in the west of the country. According to him, this is the second batch of Mi received recently adopted the Iraqi army. Previously arrived in Iraq for another 15 such machines, ITAR-TASS reported.

In autumn 2013 the first group of Iraqi pilots and technicians completed training at the Centre for combat use of army aviation in Torzhok.

Baghdad will receive a total of 40 Mi-28NE and Mi-35, which expects to use for border security and the fight against terrorists on Iraqi territory. The contract, worth $ 4.2 billion for the supply of Russian military products was signed during the visit of the President of Iraq in Moscow in 2012.

we still don't have air force the form you know al we have so far few lift planes few cessna 208 and some train planes but we are waiting for 18 f-16 and 24 t-50 black eagle the korean advanced trainer air craft.

F-16's will start arriving this year. The MI-28NE delivery is unconfirmed and inaccurate. The helicopters will be transported by air and not by sea, which brings the entire report into questioning. The news of delivery was reported by some Iraqi media quoting an "official", which is most likely BS. but the Helicopters will be arriving soon though, maybe a month or two.
