Aren't predator meats haram in Islam (i.e whole cloven hoof + chew cud reqs like in kosher)?

I am against eating predator mammals and even predator fish (I make tuna the exception) even. They have much higher instance of flesh contaminants like worms etc (swine and bird flesh is already bad enough for this - hence why they need to be fully cooked) and also heavy metals and other things livers cannot process etc (being apex predator).

Economically speaking even the herbivores are inefficient producers of protein per input (compared to plant) so this will become even worse for predators....and as far as I see it, protein quality is really the only reason to economically have meat in the diet (esp if an area's land resources are largely pastoral rather than arable).

guys if the animal is not endangered, can be breaded in captivity and there is demand for it in the market(limited sales to non muslims or exports) whats the problem in farming it.
Are you going to feed the hungry lion? Farming apex predators is energetically costly. By feeding and farming apex predators you are starving the omnivores meat. We are secondary consumers, third level and apex should be wild game and rarely eaten.

Bred* not breaded.

They probably couldn't taste the difference from a snake to a lion, and snakes are easier to handle. :azn:
