RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on Saturday that Hindu families should adopt a three-child norm to prevent "demographic imbalance" in society.

Addressing the media during the ongoing RSS national executive here, Hosabale said a "demographic shift" has been taking place due to conversion, decline in birth rate and largescale infiltration from Bangladeshis.

Bigger Hindu families would prevent minorities from gaining the upper hand in terms of population in certain parts of the country, he said.

Stating that family planning should not be made applicable to any particular community he said "demographic balance" is necessary for balanced development. The growth rate of children in the age group of 0-6 years was 15 per cent among Hindus and 18 per cent among Muslim , claimed Hosabale, adding that "elite Hindus" should seriously review family planning. "We do not have enough youth to join the Armed Forces due to the present one-child norm,'' he said.

On Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's comment of "toilets first, temples later", Hosabale said both were equally important. There was no question of priority in this matter, he said.

The national executive adopted resolutions on Muslim extremism and border security.

RSS to Hindus: shun family planning, have more kids

For the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), it’s the more the merrier.

On the lines of the Catholic church’s campaign to have more children and win rewards, the RSS has advised Hindus to go for bigger families and not to limit their number of children. Concerned over the dwindling size of Hindu families, it has asked community members not to follow family planning norms blindly and create small families.

The Sangh feels that big families will help check the menacing demographic changes taking place in many parts of the country. The one-child norm practiced by most Hindu families will endanger the very existence of the community, it warned.

“According to the 2011 Census, growth rate of children in the age group of 0-6 is 15% among Hindus, whereas it is 18% among Muslims. Small family norms are posing a big threat to Hindus. So each family should have three children,” RSS joint secretary Dattareya Hosbal said on the sidelines of the RSS national executive meet, which concluded in Kochi on Sunday.

Two years ago, a worried Catholic Church in Kerala had announced a mega-plan -- ‘Jeeva Samrudhi’ -- to encourage families with more than three children. It even coined the slogan of ‘big family, happy family’ and decided to bear educational and other expenses of families who have more than three children.

According to the latest Census report, Christian population has come down to 18.75% from the earlier 22% in the state, forcing the church to press the panic button.

“Blindly following family planning norms by a community won’t do any good to the country. It will trigger serious imbalance in the country,” Hosbal said, adding that the Sangh will go all out to encourage big families.

The three-day executive, which concluded in Kochi on Sunday, also supported the Madhav Gadgil Committee report on the Western Ghats.

“The flawed development model and lavish lifestyle of some are causing immense damage to the environment.

In this context, the Madhav Gadgil Committee report is a landmark. His recommendations are in the larger interest of the nation,” RSS general secretary Suresh Joshi said, demanding a national debate on both (Gadgil and Kasturi Rangan) panels on Western Ghats.

He also criticised the proposed Communal and Targeted Violence Bill which will be introduced in the winter session of parliament. “It is highly biased and unlawful. It seeks to divide society on minority-majority lines, which is unconstitutional.

It will destroy communal harmony and cause immense damage to the social fabric. Instead of preventing communal violence, it will only lead to further division on communal lines,” he said, asking the UPA government to have a second thought on it.

and these illegal ones should be thrown out mercilessly.

This must be a personal decision for every individual couple, although 2 child policy is sufficient.

RSS since early 1990's seems to have lost the grip over Indian society and middle class in particular, from a behind curtain social organisation its trying to be politically very active now but which issues to focus on after Ram temple is the issue RSS is seen grappling with

They are right.
Look at any dist. Where muslims are more then 30-40% . These dist. Are fcuked up. Last example is mzn riots.
Except sikh, hindu nobody ll join defence force, in last it ll be the responsibility of these community to defend nation because our beloved peaceful people would be fighting for special rights, quota, religion, bashing country, blaming other community for their own problems, voting for sickular people, putting religion above nation ( it is offencive but you also know it is true)..

Btw Atleast they are not asking to have dozens, and do riots.

What India has to do bring one child policy forcefully for 3 or 4 decades. Throw out every illigal resident, kill all anti Indian people..
Restrict the freedom of people. Change the constitution. Put people above politicians.

as such there is no restrictions to have children in India it should be left to the familys to deside ,to have the number of kids based on their financial situation, whats the point in having more kids when you cant provide them.

Nothing bad in 3 children. But India already has a young population. So there is no such need. Instead of us 'producing' more babies, it makes more sense to curtail the baby boom of the Muslim couples. It would help them by letting them have smaller families as well.

1 Child for every couple weather is is Muslim,Hindu,Sikh,Cristian
& if the RSS or the Church has a problem they can 'Kiss my Bottom'
& I really want to see what BJP does with these Illegal BDeshish when & if the get into power

Itne sare Bacho ko kaise palo ge :hitwall:

For population like ours it is a curse....There is serious need to curb the population boom and people with more than 2 child should be taxed way higher than rest of the counterparts...similarly no reservation, no benefits etc etc

Why don't RSS offer a reward for NOT so "elite Hindus" for producing more kids?

Who has imposed this policy ? I mean we don't see one child policy in India

Hosabale, adding that "elite Hindus" should seriously review family planning. "We do not have enough youth to join the Armed Forces due to the present one-child norm,'' he said.

True. My point is that - 3 children is not bad for countries having an older population. India does not need it as we already have a huge youth population. Read my post again once :)

To be honest with you...irrespective of the demography higher number of children is going to be a curse...we are already 7 billion people...we were close to 3.5 billion in 1960....so we doubled in just 5 decades....imagine in next 50 years(most of the young members of this forum still alive) the population of this planet would be whopping 14 billion...Just Imagine!!

Honestly I am not even bringing the demographics in the equation. Having 3 children for some time will help Japan, not India. I am not contradicting you.
