Weapons yes, LCUs... are not, since we already ordered them from an Indian shipyard under a seperate deal, not to mention that the kind of vessel (LCU or LCAC) would make a big cost difference too, so that can't be considered together.

I assumed so too but the LCUs you refer to are for INS Jalashwa and for ANC (for training purposes), NOT for the new LPD/LHD the IN hasn't even ordered yet. And yes, now I think about it if the IN were to go for LCACs then they'd have to sign a separate deal with whomever as those things are not cheap, bog-standard LCUs on the other hand will most likely come with whichever LPD/LHD the IN selects. LCU are pretty cheap.

INS Jalashwa can't carry that many LCUs, besides the fact that it already came with LCUs. The new order also matched the number of LDPs that should be procured and their carrying capability. Anyway, that is a different procurement, just like the helicopters that might end up being used on these vessels. The simple fact that IN remains on LCUs also shows the limited use we have from amphibious capabilities, otherwise LCACs or EDA-Rs would at least be considered, but range, speed and payload don't seems to have importance here.
