That rotor-folding issue-The very design of the ALH with its hingeless-rotor blades- means is going to make this untenable unfortunately. And this is also why the chances of seeing the RUDRA and even LCH on IN warships is unlikely as they have identically designed blades.
well at present exchange rate 6200 crores equals to $1 Billion. So 25000 crores means roughly $4 Billions at present rates.Indian friends how much dollars per 1 crore.
In my Opinion $4 Billion for just 4 LPDs is way more expensive. Or may be its for LPD+LCUs+ helis it'll carry+ weapon systems etc. @Abingdonboy @sancho any Idea??
may be go for Izumo-class helicopter destroyer
Exactly. Buying something like Juan Carlos or even Mistral won't make sense as we'll have 3 active CBGs by then so even small or less capable LPDs will do the job for us. What about Dokdo class LPD?? I guess that's also cheaper than most of the contenders with moderate capabilities. That's the total budget, but depending on which LDP or LHD we are talking, it might be too much or even too less. San Antonio class LDPs costs between $1.5 and 2 Billions each, not included development or licence production costs, so is basically out of question, if it was ever considered anyway.
The Russians are buying 4 x Mistral class LHDs with licence production costs for around $3,2 billions ($800 millions per unit), the Australian navy get versions of the Juan Carlos class LHD for around $900 million per unit (but that version would be too big for INs requirement, since the RFP limits the lenght to up to 200m, with the Galica class LDP most likely to be the more suitable and cost-effective solution from Spain.
Not possible, once because of the law restrictions about Japanese arms for exports, but also because that is an helicopter carrier without a well deck to operate amphibious vehicles.

The air wing costs aren't factored in but the costs of weapon systems and LCU/LCACs are more.In my Opinion $4 Billion for just 4 LPDs is way more expensive. Or may be its for LPD+LCUs+ helis it'll carry+ weapon systems etc. @Abingdonboy @sancho any Idea??
