i am in NWFP and there is NO such News neither anything like that happend.
And mostly Robbin is Christian name in Peshawar and singh never goes with Robin.
And on top of that Indians are calling Robin Singh a Hindu
And i tell you one more thing the Indian media comes up with such fake stories just to cash on the prevailing news of beheading of a Pakistani Sikh.
The Indian orange media earlier spread another fake news that another Sikh was abducted from SWAR
whereas the reality is NO Sikh was abducted from Swat in the first place.
You are right, he's a sikh, not a hindu. The news is true though, may be you need to work on your 'sources', same as ZH.
Father pleads for help after kidnapping
A Canadian man whose son has been kidnapped in Pakistan, likely by the Taliban, pleaded for help yesterday at a news conference at a Sikh temple in Brampton.
Bishan Dass said kidnappers abducted his son Robin Singh in the frontier city of Peshawar on Feb. 12 and later phoned to demand a ransom of 10-million rupees, the equivalent of $125,000.
He is one of at least three Sikhs who have been kidnapped in northwestern Pakistan in recent weeks. The body of Jaspal Singh was found on Sunday. He had been beheaded.
At least two others are still being held for ransom, including Robin Singh, 32, whose parents emigrated to Canada in the late 1990s and now live in Brampton.
The Pakistani Taliban are suspected but Mr. Dass said he does not know for certain who is holding his son. "I can't say they are Taliban," he said. "But they are terrorists."
After Mr. Singh disappeared while on his way home from work, his brother received a phone call telling him: "Your brother Robin Singh is with us," Mr. Dass said.
A second call two days later demanded a ransom. He said the kidnappers have not phoned since. He believes his son has been taken to Pakistan's lawless tribal belt, the Taliban stronghold.
"We are in a great problem," Mr. Dass said. "Do whatever you can, please."
He said the incident had been reported to Pakistani authorities but they are unlikely to take action, fearing the kidnappers will simply kill Mr. Singh.
"Police can't do anything," he said.
The Ontario Sikh and Gurdwara Council said it believed the Taliban are responsible and asked the Canadian government to pressure Pakistan both to secure Mr. Singh's release and take steps to protect religious minorities.
Three-quarters of Pakistanis are Sunni Muslims and attacks on minority Shia Muslims, Christians and Sikhs are common, notably bombings at places of worship and festivals.
As few as 20,000 Sikhs remain in Pakistan, many of them in Peshawar, where Taliban militants have reportedly been pressuring them to convert to Islam.
The World Sikh Organization said yesterday the Taliban have been imposing an Islamic head tax on non-Muslims in the region. Last year the Taliban razed a Sikh town for refusing to pay, it said.
"Sikhs have lived peacefully in the tribal areas and North West Frontier Province for hundreds of years," the group said in a statement.
"The Taliban should not be allowed to drive out law-abiding citizens, no matter what their religious affiliation."
The attacks in Pakistan are reminiscent of events in Afghanistan, where the Taliban have targeted those deemed un-Islamic and in March 2001, used dynamite to destroy sixth-century Buddhist monuments carved into sandstone cliffs in the Bamyan Valley.
Liberal MP Dan McTeague said he was looking into the Dass matter. Gurbax Singh Malhi, the Brampton MP, met Mr. Dass yesterday and said he had sent letters to the Pakistani and Indian prime ministers, as well as Lawrence Cannon, the Foreign Affairs Minister.
"Innocent lives are senselessly taken as minorities are not provided with the protection they need against the atrocities of Taliban," reads the letter sent to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani of Pakistan.

you mean hindu rajputs in pakistan?
muslim rajputs use their rajput titles.....like rana and chowdhary and rao and even raja in Pakistan...
as far as rajputs being white huns is concerned...i have heard that the gujjars both hindu and muslim are more hunnish than the Rajputs...
the Rajputs are very very fierce about inter-marriages and mixing of lineage...they consider gujjars as lower to them...
p.s:-I don't mean to offend anyone...this is all my observation and opinion.
oh please don't mix all rajputs....... all of them are not same.........there are Rajputs in Hindu's, Muslims and SikhsThey are Muslim Rajputs probably converts.
I dont know about the Gujjars but i have studied that Rajputs are basicaly white Huns and not Hindus. Rajputs are also considered one of the martial races.
yes this is a fact. Even the Rajputs in Pakistan do not get married outside their family.
our greatest hindu kings were Rajputs...I think you mean that the huns got converted to hinduism and were called rajputs?I dont know about the Gujjars but i have studied that Rajputs are basicaly white Huns and not Hindus. Rajputs are also considered one of the martial races.
