One of life's greatest mysteries is "How the hell is the US the most science producing country in the world?".

Seriously of all the Americans I met in my life (And they are A LOT) only like 6 I felt I can converse with in an intellectual level.

I had the same idea years ago.
first of all: US absorbs the best scientists in the world.
Second: There is a misconception in middle east that Americans are dumb. Maybe because those who join the army in US and come to ME are usually goofy losers who could not find any other job (NOT ALL OF THEM).
In general, Americans are intelligent.

1. Correct, US due to being prosperous and the most powerful country, attracts a LOT of foreign scientists. Chinese, Indians, you name it.

2. I'm sorry, but thats not correct. US average citizens are generically called "Joe six pack", and they hardly are "the brightest." Lazy, overweight, etc. And not just regular people, - watch their presidents and candidates knowledge and IQ - its just weird they are still Top1 country Not for long though.
