Was this actual battle armor or was it for ceremonial purposes?
This is a actual battle armor, Chnia is able to give each soilder an armor starts from Qin Dynasty, in the Tang Dynasty the equipment of the soilders are the best

It is said that the Han Dynasty use crossbow. If there are archers, what are the role of crossbow men?

Easy levy of peasants into a fighting force of pure awesome.

Teach easy use of crossbow to peasant.
Take peasant to war.
Peasant points crossbow at barbarian warrior who trained his whole life to fight.
Crossbow pierces armour and kills many barbarian. Shoot. reload. shoot. reload.
Peasant comes back to home town to farm.
Grows lots of rice.
Plenty to eat.
Empire continues to today.

Well, I believe the ability of Han military system to adapt to the changing faces of warfare is her greatest strength. She was a sedentary agrarian culture, based primarily on infantry centric structure, but had to learn & change her ways to mimic the Xiongnu with her own steppe cavalry & eventually beat them at their own game. Remember Gen. Huo Qubing chased the Xiongnu remnants all the way to Lake Baikal, that's a crazy distance to cover for some Chinese peasant army, lol.

The Romans were definately a formidable heavy infantry fighting force. But on the wide plains of Asiatic mainland I say they are severely disadvantaged. The Parthian horse archers proofed decisively so at the Battle of Carrhae. Besides, Rome will have to contend with Parthia first before they can get to us, so we are safe, hehehe.

Ironically, there is new movie by Jackie Chan about Han and Roman empire. I have not watch this movie yet. Its call Dragon Blade.

Only you are the dumbo here, trying desperately now to cling to straws after all your arguments were put in the gutter where they belong. So sad.

Point remains, one of them sacked Beijing, the other took whole of China. One victory eh?

Beijing was not the capital city of the Song Dynasty back then. The northern Song Dynasty capital was Kaifeng, while the southern one was Nanjing. No body even called Beijing as Beijing. Long time ago, people call it Beiping, at the era of Yuan dynasty it was Dadu. It was not even considered as a big and important city back then.

The trailer looks so bad its embarrassing. How can they ruin such an awesome concept?

"His crime!... He took the place in your heart that belongs to me!" - Adrian Brody (presumably gay talk about his infatuation with Jackie Chan)

Ergh.

Nah, it's not his infatuation with Jackie Chan. It's his loyalty to the antagonist (Adrian Brody)'s younger brother, which is a blind little boy. Adrian's character is a bit gay, but the others are not. Even John Cussack's character's loyalty to the little prince is not gay relation, but an honorable loyalty of a soldier to his prince.

I like how this movie portrait the ancient armies. Specially the Roman Legion. They are not just a weakling like what the western movie show so far. They are tough and powerful, very discipline, and well trained. It is a pity that we don't witness the Han army in here. Just their town guard that eventually not the real representation of their might.

This is the map of China during the Southern Song. Song lost northern part of China to the Jurchens who form the Jin Dynasty and yes their capital was Zhongdu in present day Beijing. The Jurchen however ended up in a two front war between the Mongols in the north and Song in the south. Eventually it was Genghis Khan son defeated the Jurchens Dynasty and ransack Zhongdu.
