Rohingyas stripped off all nationality docs

Were they anti Buddhist? Or did they fight the Palas? I don't know much. Also Hindu kingdoms also often fought each other. Does not mean they were anti Hindu. :D @Tshering22
How many Brahmin dynasties ruled India?

What everyone knows is the consistent destruction of Buddhist and Hindu culture from Gandhara to kamboj to Sindh to Kashmir to Pataliputra to Nalanda by Islamic invasions. The most famous University of those times and a place of Buddhist learning became history in the hands of Islamic invaders. Takshila was destroyed by Huns before that. Shankaracharya on the other hand could revive Hinduism from the deep South, yet untouched by Islam. Buddhism also flourished where Islam did not reach. Like in Lanka, SE Asia, China, Japan etc. The last relic was lost when the Taliban blew up the Bamiyan Buddhas.

Hope this clarifies the so called Jihadi tactics. Every invaders had different religions. They are known by their place. Turk, Afghan,Arab, Mongol etc. But later we admire them as Islamic rulers. Religions are not responsible for any brutalities, its the people who did that. Remember earlier Ottomans never followed Islam. They used to follow their local customs. And similarly from ancient ages one invader attacking other Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Polytheists etc. Now Muslims attacked it has become an issue. As if Hindus were living peacefully with one another before invasion of central Asians. And look at world Hindu map today. Only in Muslim and Christian countries you got to hide your a$$ no Buddhist countries given a place to Hinduism. I guess why?

You misunderstood my position. I don't have as much a problem with Islamic empires as I have with them in India. It could have been the golden period of xyz land...but for India and for our non Muslim ancestors it varied from barely tolerable to absolute nightmare.

Ofcourse its intolerable to be ruled by somebody who you think not of your own kind. We anticipated the feelings and that is why we parted in 1947.

We wish you best of luck. No hard feelings. The seculars in India cry about it. Your message will hurt them. Not us.

I can fully understand what you are talking about. Its Muslims mostly fcked up themselves. Still we are fcked up by one another. Probably one Muslims attacked one another, more than the non Muslims. But the reality is Buddhists were already extinct when Muslims arrived and Hindu and Muslims flourished side by side in this land. These are all ancient history whom followed primitive culture but the goal should be for future. Lets assume that Hindu hardliners make the same mistake by totally sidelining xyz faiths or unable to totally eradicate what they are aiming. Their future generation will also rise same :D

Email - Lost at Sea: fleeing the threat of genocide - United to End Genocide

Fleeing the threats of genocide, thousands of Rohingya are being cast back out to sea. Demand their rescue and protection.

Fleeing the threats of genocide, thousands of Rohingya are being cast back out to sea. Demand their rescue and protection.

Dear Supporter,

They are fleeing the threat of genocide — and they are being cast back into the sea. Without immediate action, they are going to die.

At least 4,000 and perhaps more than 10,000 ethnic minority Rohingya are floating in the Andaman Sea trapped in crowded wooden boats. With food and clean water running low, their lives are in grave danger.

Instead of heeding their cries for help, Burma’s neighbors are pushing these rickety boats back to sea. The United States is saying and doing nothing.

The result? As I was quoted by Nick Kristof in theNew York Timestoday, "the Andaman Sea is about to become a floating mass grave, and it’s because of the failure of governments, including our own, to do what is necessary."

There is a moral imperative to rescue those at sea.Join me in asking the United States to help save the lives of thousands of desperate people who are about to lose their lives in the Andaman Sea.

Just weeks ago, I witnessed the devastation with my own eyes.I met Bibi Khadija*, her husband and their two small children who fled Burma fearful for their lives on a boat with 200 other Rohingya. Bibi and her family were at sea for 33 days. Five people died from starvation. Bibi and her family were the lucky ones that survived.

Members of Parliaments from Southeast Asia that I just met with told me that the U.S. is the single greatest source of influence on the government of Burma and governments who are turning desperate Rohingya asylum seekers back out to sea.

But, the Obama administration continues to remain silent. It has lifted pressure on the government of Burma even as the government increased its persecution and attacks on the Rohingya.

Burma has repeatedly denied the Rohingya citizenship, restricted their ability to work, attend school, have access to health care, get married or even have children. Worse, the government of Burma has been complicit in violent attacks against the Rohingya.

Now the Obama administration has an immediate opportunity to save thousands of lives and deliver a clear message to the government of Burma — Protect the Rohingya.

Burma should be warned that its persecution of the Rohingya and their failure to protect them will lead to the imposition of sanctions by listing them as a worst offender in the upcoming State Department’s annual Trafficking in Persons report.

Unless the policies of hate end in Burma, the crisis will only escalate. We must act now to save those stranded at sea and take the steps needed to protect the Rohingya at home.

Sincerely,

What are the origins of Rohingyas in a nut shell Asad Bhai?

What are the origins of Rohingyas in a nut shell Asad Bhai?

1.In 200 BC the monsoon winds was discovered by the Byzantine navigator Hypolatus. Thereafter began an East-West sea trade, Canton in the east and Aden in the west. The trading was done by the Arabs exclusively to collect merchandise from the east and market these in N Africa, S Europe, Byzantine empire and Persia.
2. Ships would leave Aden and modern Yemeni ports, turn the Strait of Hormuz, hit for Sind-Gujarat coast, sail along the Western Ghat and turn at Cape Comorin to reach the Madras-Tamil Nadu coast, into Bay of Bengal and reach Bengal-Arakan coast, then Andaman Sea, Strait of Malacca, S China Sea and eventually reaching Canto/Guangzhou.
3. That was the general route. But ships would loss direction, go off route, etc. Today we find Muslim population concentrated along this route.
4. The sailors and merchants were Arabs. Before the emergence of Christianity they were all Jews. Then some converted to Christianity.
5. Now visualize this. In this arduous journey there would be stops which gradually developed into ports of call. Sick people would be off loaded and replacements taken. There would be change of navigators. There would be some trading at each port. Arakan coast became important because it provided ready timber for repairs and even new-building. In this manner an Arab and semi-Araba colony developed at each point. Indigenous society in Arakan and eastwards has been matriarchal. The Arabs marrying local women rarely took them or their children away. These people being seeds of adventurous and physically strong Arabs eventually organized themselves into well-knit communities.
6. Two years before the Hijrat the Holy Prophet PBUH, commissioned his maternal uncle Sahabi Abu Waqqas to travel east to convey the Message. The Governor of Yemen, who had already been won over, provided the ship. The Sahabi lived and preached in the South and East of what is modern BD and in Arakan. Thereafter, he left for Canton where he built one of the earliest mosques in Islam. I am lucky to have been able to offer prayers there. The local Muslims call it the Mosque of Our Ancestor. The Sahabi died here and is buried nearby in what is now called the Mausoleum of Our Ancestor.
7. That in short is the genesis of the Arakan Muslims now being called the Rohingyas. They had established an independent Sultanate which survived and thrived for 367 years till the Burmese King of Ava came destroying M'raku, their capital and erasing the great library they had built on the lines of the one at Cordoba.
8. The Rohingyas deserve support from all peace/freedom loving people. It is the bounden obligation of all Muslims to help them.
