Rohingyas, stranded Pakistanis exerting economic pressure on Bangladesh: PM Hasina

Those Pakistanis have every right to return to their home.
If Afghan, Bengali, and Burmese can roam around here, then these people have every right to come back.
But deep down I know that is never going to happen.

.
there are more than 10 million illegal bengalis who moved to Pakistan after East Pakistan broke away, lets throw them out first.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday called the displaced Rohingyas and stranded Pakistanis as burden for Bangladesh, saying they are putting pressure on country's economy.

"Three years have already passed after Rohingyas influx in Bangladesh and it's a burden for us," she said.

The prime minister said this while newly appointed ambassador of the Netherlands to Bangladesh Anne Gerard Van Leeuwen paid a courtesy call on her at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.

She added that the Rohingyas are also destroying the environment and forest resources of Cox's Bazar.

She also talked about the stranded Pakistanis, saying, "These (Rohingyas and stranded Pakistanis) are creating economic pressure on Bangladesh."

PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the newsmen after the meeting.

Talking about the Rohingya issue, the Netherlands envoy apprised of his
talking about the issue with the refugees and NGO activists.

He expressed his realization that the solution is rooted in sending back the Rohingyas to their native land Myanmar.

Sheikh Hasina appreciated the Netherlands contribution to her country’s development and formulate the Delta Plan-2100.

To this end, she recalled Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s stance to develop Bangladesh through land reclamation like the Netherlands.

Recalling her last visit to the Netherlands the prime minister said that she was overwhelmed to see production and preservation of agricultural items using the Green House system.

“We can also adopt the system as our country is an agro-based one,” she said.

The Dutch envoy said they are eager to share their experience to this end.

Sheikh Hasina said her government is doing the river dredging in the country as part of the measures to increase water reservoirs to preserve water.

The prime minister said that they are converting the Cox’s Bazar airport into an international airport to attract more tourists in the world's longest unbroken sandy sea-beach.

She said her government is setting up 100 economic zones at different parts the country to attract more domestic and foreign investment and thus spur the country’s overall development.

Dutch ambassador Anne Gerard Van Leeuwen appreciated Bangladesh's development under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The envoy said that he had travelled Bangladesh by air and witnessed the landscape of the country which he said similar to his own country.

Later, Ambassador of Nepal in Bangladesh Banshidhar Mishra paid a farewell call on prime minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.

The prime minister said Bangladesh is developing the Syedpur Airport as a regional one and Nepal can use the airport.

She also offered Nepal to use Mongla and Paira ports.

The prime minister also recalled with gratitude Nepal's support during the War of Liberation.

He also praised Bangladesh’s overall development saying that they are moved with its development.

He thanked the Bangladesh prime minister on behalf of his country's president and prime minister as she sent Haribhanga Mangoes.

Ambassador-at-Large Mohammad Ziauddin and principal secretary Ahmad Kaikaus were present at the meetings.

no province is ready to take even one more migrant . do you like to see civil war in pakistan sir ?

. .
Afghan refugees are still pouring in, I am not seeing any civil war here.
with hope of sending them back . while you are asking something totally different sir . those east pakistanis will not come here to go back . we will kick afghanis any day .

.
That's not even logical let alone fair. bengali doesn't equal to Bangladeshi. ones a linguistic group, the other is an administrative unit.

India claims over 400 million Bangladeshis live in India.
:lol:400 million? that's more than the people in the country itself 166 million

.
There are Bengali Muslims in Pakistan whi want to come back to Bangladesh. Bangladesh should take them back in exchange of stranded Pakistani Biharis.

Bihar in India will not take these people. They call themselves Pakistani. So Pakistan must bear them. These people must leave our country. They are a huge burden to our economy.

Rohingyas from Myanmar and Biharis from British India are huge burden to Bangladesh. Biharis also sided with Pakistani army in 1971 war. Biharis killed many Bengalis in Mirpur area of Dhaka. These people are hated by local Bengali people due to their past history of crime against Bengalis.

.
They don't want or cannot get?
Technical impossibility
Okay so let's make adjustment to my previous proposal. Let's swap everyone who came here after the creation of Bangladesh, and are not citizens of Pakistan, for the Biharis in BD.
Its been 3 generations. Such massive population transfer needs a war in Bengal
It does in Pakistan's context. All the Bengalis in Pakistan arrived post independence and were Bangladeshi citizeins.
There was a Bengali presence in Karachi pre 71 as well.
:lol:400 million? that's more than the people in the country itself 166 million

That's India for you

.
BD is in a good location. BD does not have any military threats.
Than india doesn’t need any eastern command at all since bd is not a threat to india.

You’re more of a burden to bd than Biharis will ever be.
What is the issue with Rohyngas? They are your Bengali cousins from Myanmar. Correct?
No. They’re arakanese
Aren't Rohingya's closer to Bengalis than Indian Muslims from Assam, UP & Bihar?
🤦🏻
bihar Assam West Bengal etc we’re all part of the Bengal sultanate. Arakan was an independent state. Get your history right.

.
we all know the true here our Pakistani republic is never going to let these Biharis from India in. We need our Pakistan leadership then be honest with these Peoples and other big groups who are asking the sane question that they will never get Pakistani citizenship make best and improve where you are.

.
It's time Pakistan should take those stranded Pakistanis back. When you claim to be a country created for Indian Muslims and then deny the entry to these very Indian Muslims doesnt make sense. This might also help restore normal relations with Bangladesh.
We have more "stranded" Bangladeshis than Bangladeshis have Pakistanis.
We can give 5 ships full for a half ship full.

.
If stranded people in Pakistan and Bangladesh want to immigrate and take citizenship of India, I will whole heartedly support it.

No one cares about poverty stricken India or seeking citizenship there.

Indian GDP per capita is already lower than Bangladesh - and its projected to go even lower in the future.

Keep pulling your country down into the gutter as you face more and more boycotts because of ethnic cleansing.

That said - the thread was about Pakistan and Bangladesh.

I am going to ask the mods to delete all the off topic and irrelevant posts by bhakts.

@The Eagle bhai, thread hijack in progress.
It is factually correct. These people needs to take up BD citizenship and just be. No one is asking them to foget Urdu or abandon their uniqueness.

As long as they remain on refugee camps....BD shares majority of the bill for the stipends they receive, the security infastructure necessary to penn them in the refugee camp etc.. Utter waste of money, it is a cost BD can better spend elsewhere. For the people they are not realising their potential chasing an impossible dream.

As i said before the whole situation is dumb.

Exactly - I have friends who are Indian immigrants in Bangladesh from 1947 who can speak fluent Bengali but speak Chosht Urdu at home.

No issues there...they have every right to keep their family culture alive.

Correct. Pakistani government should be honest and tell them the truth that they will never be allowed back. Accept the BD citizenship and move on.

For the sake of their children , Biharis should move on and accept BD citizenship. They wasted their lives for the useless country aka Pakistan that bailed on them. I don't know why they even want to be part of the part (Pakistan) when its own ethnic population hate them. I wish they were blue eyed blonde , that would have increased their chances of being accepted but since they aren't , they should accept what they can and move on.
