From a non-atheist point of view: Jewish people was the main and first tool of God to communicate to mankind.
Prophet Abraham (as) was not a Jew but a Southern Mesopotamian Semite from modern-day Southern Iraq. If anything he was an equivalent to a modern-day Arab more than anything else. Both Arabs and Jews claim to be sons and daughters of his. The first recorded concepts/religions that were monotheistic or monotheistic in nature also originated in the Arab world. Egypt, Arabia and Mesopotamia to be precise. In fact the oldest pagan religions as well.
In any case the whole idea of ethnic group x or y, having some kind of "patent" or "hot line" to God is ridiculous. The main reason why the Abrahamic religions gained prominence worldwide was due to them appearing in the most sophisticated, most advanced and oldest civilizations of their time.
I mean the whole concept of writing, agriculture, the first cities, science itself originated in modern-day Arab states, Fertile Crescent etc.
All that played a role in the Abrahamic expansion.
It makes sense why it was not the Scandinavians, Inuits, Aboriginals, Congolese, Mongolians, Turks etc.
Anyway God has sent 1000's of Prophets throughout human history. To all corners of the world at various times. Only very few in comparison have been recorded in history.
Regardless if you are a believer or not, West Asia was where humanity truly excelled and changed history for millennia upon millennia. The after-effects of this are still profoundly felt across most areas of the world to this very day.
