Rizvi: India to sell old-fashioned weapons to Bangladesh through defence pact

. . . .
Bangladesh is becoming hyper active to gain India's attention. Bangladesh is already buying weapons from china and they can continue do so. India did not take bangladesh's bait of using china card and now so called defence pact is being thrown around to squeeze more concessions. Defence acquisitions will always be a open tender process and the best will get the contract. No need to get worked over it.

dude , bangladesh is completely surrounded by India. Other than myanmar there is now where they can use all these advanced equipment. More than buying the equipment its the maintenance cost that will be high.

India can use BD for its weapons sale point and other may follow, sell them LCA first.

.
Yep, that's the point. India "manufactures" redundant bogus weaponry.

Go with the Chinese. They have done wonders for the Pakistan armed forces. You can do the same thing. The closer you get with the Chinese the sweeter the deals they offer.

.
I always wondered why in the "End of times" there aren't any fore-telling about Bangladesh or "Sharki" (Eastern Pakistan) as Nimat Allah Shah Wali puts it. And after India-Bangladesh defence pact, you pretty much know why.

Yeah correct, Chinese will give things which will keep you wondering later

In the list of Chinese exports we follow you. And Burma is next.

Any defense treaty between 2 countries where one overwhelmingly exceeds the other interms of national power, is bound to be a unequal treaty to cement a master-slave relation. India is way too big to ever need BD's assistance in war but by such treaties it would be able to control BD's national security infrastructure and use it for its own national interest. The USSR and Eastern block countries were NOT equal partners. The Easter EU countries were mere satellites of USSR where a mid level soviet communist party leader could hire and fire officials in Eastern EU countries. India wants a similar type of master-slave relation with BD and awamileaguers would be more than happy to oblige if it guarantees their position in power in BD.

This is why it is imperative Bangladesh seek greater co-operation with China. It will guarantee your sovereignty. Sino-Pak relations can provide you an exemplar if you so wish.

BD is under complete domination of pro-indian forces. India invested billions into this regime. They won't let go of it so easily. Simply put bangladeshis don't have a say in the matter. I doubt BDs ever had a say in BD matters.

Dont be so cynical and lose heart. Sure, Bangladesh is slipping into the Indian fold slowly but Chinese pockets are way way deeper than Indian ones and China's global presence dwarfs India and ALL politicians take money into consideration. If the deal is good enough, wide enough and deep enough, India doesnt stand a chance. It comes down to how much the Chinese want to replace India as a partner. Nothing is impossible. Best of luck.

Who wants to loose a friend and an opportunity...

We want Bangladesh also to prosper along with us...

But it's up to them to chose which is best for them. A balanced relation is always good. Over dependence is never a character of a sovereign state

One major point you forgot.
Bangladesh and Bangladeshis has more need and association with India than China.

Bangladesh leaders should realize that any dramatic shift irking India will make another srilankan fiasco politically
