Rising naxalite movement in india

I wold rather think the Naxal movement is stagnating at best and weakening at worst.

Mao had no forces, he had a million guerrillas, they had almost no weapons, where would he get them? What they did have they captured from Japanese, and Chinese army helping the Japanese, like Nazi's French foreign legion. He had like one or two factories, unable to keep even his 10,000 regulars at his wartime capital supplied.

Japanese refused to surrender to him, because Chang promised that the Chinese theater Japanese commanders immunity if they obeyed him. Those commanders later because high ranking advisers to Chang in Taiwan.

Mao succeeded because of his creative thinking, villages surrounds cities, use space exchange for time, don't dwell on a city and give it up if you need to, instead destroy the enemies' army. These are strategies inferior enemies use to this day. There's more.

Land reforms for everyone, democratic elections(I know ironic), loved based marriages and a whole bunch of ideas and reforms that made him popular.

One of the most important things, Mao created schools and he himself took part in massive farming initiatives, that made a crap land that grows nothing into a land that had a harvest each year. If you seen communists at work in the 50s and 60s, even during that time, there's camera footage from Americans, you would believe it.

He is right, communist reserved their fighters for the civil war while Nationalist exhausted all of it during world war 2. @scorpionx your views will be appreciated.

I believe the Indian Maoists will wind up as another FARC, resorting to illegal ways to sustain themselves and losing all credibility with the wider population.

This is why I said the Indian insurgency looks more bandits than Maoists, because they don't have any revolutionary reforms or good strategies against the government.

And what that good strategy can be?

Mao was a calculative leader. His understanding of the Post war China was million times more pragmatic than Chiang. Mao knew apart from fighting the Japanese, Chiang had to feed millions of poor civilians under the nationalist rule which Chiang can not in such circumstances. Mao chose to keep silent when bulk of nationalist army were diverted to protect the Burma route under the command of Joseph Stilwell. You are right in the sense that he did not have weapons and auxiliaries. But this is also true he ignored several calls from Chiang and the Allied to confront the Japanese directly. He secretly dealt with the Japanese not to engage in serious battles to preserve his manpower. The Japanese en route through China bypassed the communist territory. This way, Mao succeeded to keep his area comparatively peaceful when Generalissimo had to face the sheer discontent of his people after the war. It was a dirty game with foresighted calculation from a cunning leader.

LOLs figures speaks themselves. We hardly lose 100 police/crpf every year fighting with Naxals but what about those 'little part' Taliban? You guys are losing your SSG troops, Major generals, majors, colonels and now to mention many hundred troops every year. We have saved our a$$ already be it from Naxals or Kashmiri terrorists but what about you?? We have controlled both of these movements and force them to surrender in large numbers(2500 naxals surrender last year alone) even yesterday 25 of naxals surrenderd and 7-8 killed. Last major naxal attack happened more than 7 months ago but what about your Pakistan my man? It happens every other day in Pakistan. So better save your a$$ from Taliban like we have saved ours from Naxal(Kashmiri terrorists are hardly any threat anymore so I am not counting them)

I don't know one way or the next, but during our communist struggle, Mao was actually pretty low level at the beginning, the Nationalist keep saying they killed this and that and communist is done.

Then long march happened, that was a retreat unlike any other in modern history. Read about it pretty interesting if you like, very hard time, but you know who's in command of China now don't you.

Of course looking at your naxalite movement, it's no Mao let communists. More like Bandits.

Maoists in India are actually bandits, they run an elaborate extortion racket in the hinterlands where police presence is less, and they actually pay the local unemployed youths monthly salaries with that extortion money to form their army. I personally know one such victim of Maoist extortion who pays extortion money to keep his ancestral house safe. People don't lodge complaints out of fear.

The problem could have been crushed, but the problem is they are spread in a few states, and some states are covertly sympathetic to them for the votes, so when one state is taking action against them, they simply move to a 'friendly' state for shelter. What we need is a centralized action plan against them, but many mainstream political parties are against it for vote bank politics. And then there are many delusional NGOs & activists who believe this problem can be resolved through talks, hence, no concrete action was never taken against them apart from some sporadic action.
