RIP Nice, France terror attack victims...73 Dead many injured.

(CNN)At least 73 people were killed Thursday night when a large truck plowed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France, the Nice prosecutor's office said, according to French media.

The driver pointed his tractor-trailer into the crowd and accelerated, mowing bodies over. The driver was shot to death, authorities said. At least 100 people were injured, authorities said.
Here are the latest developments in the tragedy:
• The attack in Nice, France, began when an occupant of the truck shot into the crowd and then drove for 2 kilometers along the pavement of the Boulevard des Anglais, the main street in Nice, regional President Christian Estrosi told CNN affiliate BFM-TV. He said police later found firearms, explosives and grenades in the truck.
• Anti-terror prosecutors have joined the investigation, according to BFMTV, citing the Prosecutor's office.

• Preliminary information from French officials is that there was one individual in the truck, according to a U.S. law enforcement official briefed on the attack. The individual, a male, was killed by police and it does not appear there was any gunfire from the truck, according to the official.
• Subprefect Sebastien Humbert, of the Alpes-Maritimes region, described the incident as a "major criminal attack," according to AFP.
• The driver of the truck that drove into the crowd was shot dead by police, said Pierre-Henry Brandet, a spokesman for French Interior Ministry. There was no hostage situation at any point, he said.
• U.S. President Barack Obama has been apprised of the situation in Nice and his national security team will update him, said National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price.
• Witness Tony Molina said he can see 70-100 emergency vehicles. Two helicopters have landed, he said. Bodies are covered in blue tarps and marked so emergency vehicles don't run over them, he said.

• Maryam Violet, a witness, said she was walking along the beach and saw "a ton of people on the ground and on the sidewalk." "You could see someone with a bike or a wheelchair and someone with a bag full of flowers, innocent and normal people on the beach."
• French President Francois Hollande is returning to Paris from Avignon for emergency talks at the Interior Ministry after the mass casualty incident in Nice, according to French national radio.
• Facebook has activated the Safety Check feature for people in and around the area of the attack.
• An American witness at the scene said the driver of the truck was mowing bodies over, and that he appeared to accelerate as he hit those bodies. The witness said he saw only the driver. He heard gunfire as he ran away, but did not know its source. It seemed like an accident at first, but it became apparent very quickly that it was deliberate, the witness told CNN.
• BFM posted an image of the truck that reportedly was involved in the incident. The photo shows what appears to be bullet holes in the windshield of the white truck.
• Christian Estrosi, the head of the regional council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, said late Thursday: "Dear Nice residents, the driver of a truck appears to have caused tens of deaths. Stay for the moment in your homes. More info to come."

• Eric Dartell was eating at a restaurant on the street where the incident happened. "You can see wreckage all along the way, a body, bicycles, street lamps and debris everywhere," he said.
Developing story -- more to come

just woke up and saw news....SHOCKED!!! This is second time after Paris attacks. Only if French authorities would more proactive.....Terrorist has been identified as French man of Tunisian origin.....ISIS claims responsibility.....Lets wait for more confirmation

There is a difference. You are doing nobody a favour equating the two situations. In Kashmir, people who oppose the killing of the head of a terrorist organisation are involved in violent clashes with the police and are getting killed when their violence becomes threatening to life. In Nice, a truck drove along the pavement and killed people who had neither politics nor terrorism on their minds.

No Indian looking at the situation will fail to feel grief at the loss of life. But no Indian will make the equation you are making. And thank Heavens for that.

Joe, don't say that please. You termed Wani a freedom fighter last night when you were writing a petition on their behalf.

RIP, may god give strength to friends and family of departed souls.

Did u forget Peshawar? Why are u bringing Kashmir here?

RIP to the dead.

They already found the ID papers just like previous attacks. Bomb and fire proof ID cards must carry things for the terrorists.

If Baluchistan wants to join Afghanistan or Iran we should give them a plebiscite. However, neither country has requested us to do so. Secondly, if Iran and Afghanistan did for some reason, they would have to do so in their own territory as well. And if their people in their lands chose to join Pakistan, then we would gain territory. Something tells me they won't take that risk...

"As I said, sometimes thinking with brain is important than thinking with balls."

You should heed your own advice. Killing Kashmiris until the end time is not the answer. Not for them or for you. Nobody benefits under the status quo

You are assumptions are wrong nobody is killing Kashmiris. So first correct the fact. And neither are their rights encroached from them. A Kashmiri Muslims has as many as rights as me: he can become PM, President of India as me. He has the same job and business opportunities and independence to practice his own religion as me.

Many in Baluchistan wants independence from Pakistan, and I am sure if a plebiscite is done in Baluchistan, it would be independent. I was wondering why you didn't comment on Tibet. Is it because China is your Iron Brother?

Thinking with brain is important than thinking with balls. See what happened to Pakistan as a result of thinking with balls. BD parted away, since last 15 years Pakistan is in hell with violence and lost almost 60000 people, and strangely nobody in the world is even sympathising with Pakistan and instead blaming Pakistan for terrorism across the world. Now Afghanistan is against you, the relations with Iran are at its lowest and India doesn't even want to talk to you. All the result of not thinking correctly and acting on impulse and emotions.

Is it already established it is terrorist attack or is it just a mindless physico running amok?

RIP to the innocent lives which are lost.

Oh so he did opened fire? damn :( because vergenes said that it was police who killed him it was those gunshots so i thought that b*** died in his truck

The situation is a little bit confused right now. Investigating sources told the AFP that he fired with a handgun before being killed by the Police.... another source says there was a non operating grenade in the truck and fake weapons.
