The police officer who was killed sounds like a very brave fellow indeed. Apparently there have been at least three assassination attempts on him before, one of which destroyed his house.

I think that the time is past when police officers can be at the forefront of fighting the TTP. Policemen cannot live in anonymity and secrecy like armymen in barracks can. They have to live among the people, and it is easy to do a target killing on them. At least, easy for powerfu insurgent groups like TTP.

Why was he leading the fight against TTP anyway? Since the army and paramilitaries are also fighting the Taliban, what role do the police play? Was he a police officer in the FATA region, or in Karachi?

How can we stop these suicide bomb blasts and terrorism? Chaudhry Aslam death must not go to waste. He was a brave officer but this will not end until the pool that replenishes because of hate trade we have been doing for the past decade does not end.

musharraf's wrong policies created Taliban - the TTP ones.

Those who support Musharraf today must answer why Americans were allowed inside our country to wreak havoc in FATA. They operated drones from inside Pakistan while military kept denying it. Musharraf allowed CIA network to spread in FATA from where they r still conducting drone strikes.

In initial days of drone strikes Musharraf took the blame himself whereas it never was Pakistan military conducting those trikes!

The biggest crime Musharraf did against Pakistan was giving NRO to Benazir. It reinforced the point you can get away with corruption. It was all done to appease Brits and Americans.

The drone policy and the general isolation Pakistan suffers today is because of continuation of the policy Musharraf agreed to in NRO. Nobody will see that agreement perhaps, but the slavery of the West we see in Pakistan today and not falling off the US policy in the region is a clear indicator Musharraf did more damage to our country than the good he did.

We cant be called a respectable nation. We are not. We elect and defend leaders who have enslaved us and did a very insignificant little good in return. Look at Iran. It stood all test, and here in the West its begrudgingly respected.
