‘Restricting military aid to Pakistan will hurt critical US interests’

And now I know that you really, REALLY don't understand basic math. Umm.......frequency of Google searches, does NOT equal support at the polls, fyi. I think it's safe to say that in your desperate search for some evidence, ANY evidence, refuting what every major poll has said, you came up with that gem! Nice try though.

Seriously, you cannot possibly believe that I am not amused by your thinking!

You are going to be amused the day Trump becomes the president of your nation.

Right now, he has wrecked your beloved Republican party to bits and pieces. What more evidence do you need? You are in denial.

LOL KKK on the rise. Time to make America great again by expelling Muslims, banning mosques and building a wall against Mexicans. Have some more popcorn...

It's still not clear to me
With respect this is of little consequence

Gen Votel "“The Pakistan military continues to play a visible role in efforts to reduce safe havens in Fata"
What this star studded US Army general thinks is of big, big, real big consequence.

@Dalit No reason to be so caustic. @Desertfalcon seems to be sorted type of guy. As regards Trump we have dozens of retards like him in Pakistan. What you should understand is Trump is not going to win and even if by some miracle he does he will sober up well before taking office. So chill.

You seem to be committing the fallacy of arguing from ignorance:

Sorry, don't watch Fox.

Most relevant to Pakistan is that the Carter Administration, led by the dispossessed Polish aristocrat and National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, subtly encouraged the U.S.S.R. to invade Afghanistan, seeing the country as "Russia's Vietnam" - a trap for its military that would sink the Soviet economy. Z.B. knew that the I.S.I. under Bhutto had already established a guerilla presence in Afghanistan.

Pakistan was under embargo until mid-1982. Until then the arms came from Israel with the U.S. as conduit, while money came from the Saudis. But Pakistan was in the driver's seat the whole way.

The Chinese say, "Feed a man to fish and you've fed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you've fed him for life." The Chinese do not say that you are forever responsible for his actions afterwards - Pakistanis' justification for blaming America for everything that goes wrong, including their own choices.

I understand the importance of Pakistan. I don't understand the importance of Pakistan getting more F-16s.

You are intentionally ignoring many facts here. They make you uncomfortable. US aid doesn't begin to cover the losses Pakistan sustained in this war. Human cost aside, military expenditures and losses to economy are many many times US aid. Let's compare it to money spent in Afghanistan which amounts to a trillion dollar. Now see the condition of Afghanistan and compare it to Pakistan. Before you go gaga over it was Pakistan who is to be blamed at the first place, let me remind you some of history.

During Soviet war, Afghan warriors were our common darlings, remember? :pleasantry:. And then West just left. Simply. With tens of thousands of fighters, massive amounts of weapons, destroyed infrastructure, millions of refugees in Pakistan and war between Kabul and factions of so proclaimed Mujahideens, you guys. Just. Left. Now don't you forget this till end of this post. Don't! What would happen is no rocket science. And my country borne the brunt in every possible way. So what were we suppose to do? We had to try to bring some kind of rule to this country so we can send refugees back and stop weapons and drugs coming into our land. It's easy to go idealistic sitting in a US metropolis but Afghanistan is no Boston mate. By now you guys have figured that out, the hard way though. So please spare me the idealistic bull crap and face the facts here.

Unlike guys like you believe, Afghan Taliban are not in our control. We can communicate with them. We can try to lure them but we can't force them to accept them anything. And, no; unless you are talking ethnic cleansing by WMDs, they are here to stay. When 9/11 happened, we sided with US. But memories of last time were still fresh. And this time we were fighting on the other side. So were you guys. You have the luxury of packing your bag and go home thousands of miles away leaving us to deal with the mess. Yet again!

Price we paid and still paying is to stand with US. We have hunted Al-Qaeda relentlessly and fought off TTP. They think Pakistan should be punished for siding with US. OBL's files tell you how much he hated Pak Military. We ripped his empire into pieces. And now here we have some Americans who think we deceived them too! Talk about irony! Don't believe me. Believe US generals. Thankfully they are not stupid nor liars. If your general testifies to US lawmakers that we are fighting terrorism alongside US troops and intelligence AND using F-16s, the best precision bomber we have got, then dammit we are doing that! And doing that at a great price. On one hand we have to counter terrorist propaganda about siding with non-believers on the other with fools sitting in US metropolises! That's not the end of it. Here we have a neighbour who has no shame. With last departure of US in mind and shameless exploitation of Afghan situation at the expense Afghan civillians by our neighbour, it is only natural we protect our national interests. Listen genius, US is not the only one with a national interest. And we did not win our freedom to hand it back to Indians again! Why F-16s? Because it helps us hunt terrorists. Because we are fighting alongside US troops and benefits should run two ways. Because weak Pakistan only increases possibility of nuclear war. You want a nuclear war? Because we deserve to protect our interests as much as US does. Because region descending into chaos once again has repercussions for us and entire world. Because our actions help save US lives. Because we can get you to talk to people whom neither you nor we can eliminate completely. And most importantly Afghan forces are utterly hopeless in providing security and winning this war on their own.

I thank God that not all in Capital Hill and Pentagon are morons. Most of them can be reasoned with.

KKK? Uh, Ben Carson?

Like I said, keep posting man! You. are. killing it!

But I guess if the man who not only did not win one single primary, but did not even finish 2nd...or 3rd...in ANY primary of a small percentage of activist conservatives, the guy who finished last in South Carolina, (arguably the most evangelical and conservative state to vote thus far.), says something, then it MUST mean that America must believe that as well!

This is a lie too. Everything is a conspiracy and a lie against the US.

. . .
Except Pakistan would be preparing for something that is not likely to happen. 1. Trump is most likely, not only NOT going to win the election, he will destroy the Republican Party at the national level in the process. 2. If by some fluke, he does get elected president, he would face tough opposition for much of what he has campaigned on in foreign policy, in the Congress. Don't confuse the bigoted rantings of Trump for what Congress thinks, or our armed forces, or the American people.

The GOP needs to be destroyed. It's been sick for a long time. Sometimes the best way to save something is to destroy it and build anew.

.
Go ahead.. But before ranting -- try reading posts... Specially when it comes from proffessionals of senior members... Had you read @Desertfalcon post you would see him advocating the fighters for Pak.. Pak-US are allies... No matter how much we (both) Fuk up... It's a partnership in place since the 50s... What is needed is more people to people contact and spreading peace instead of nonsense/venom...
Yea and look where we are with this 1950s partnership ,Pak US relationship is always based on greed and do more and in this regard we have paid too much price for US sins .But ALas even today people dont realise this but Hey we will get F16

You are trying to reason with someone who only believes in Fox News propaganda. He has already made up his mind regarding Pakistan. Read his other poisonous and hateful diatribe against Pakistan in many other threads on this forum to get an idea who this guy is. This is our typical average Israeli who thinks the entire world has wronged him. Pakistan is the biggest evil against Israel in his own words.

Trump is a loony, but don't think that everything he says is based on emotion and fiction. Despite Trump's many shortcomings and stupidities he has one quality which every person can learn from. It is to speak your mind openly.

I like it when Trump openly speaks his mind about his plans to arm India to the teeth and snatch away the nukes from Pakistan. Pakistan should be prepared for open hostility and enmity with those that arm our enemies and don't shy away from admitting it. Pakistan should be prepared at its fullest.

LOL at the outdated graph... I knew that is the best you could come up with.

Of course you do watch Fox. It is your fav channel.

Whatever man. You keep the history lesson to yourself. It is a given that the Americans armed and trained Jihadi groups against the former USSR. No amount of history lessons can change this fact. If Pakistan is guilty, the Americans are double guilty. Crying over split milks has no use. Today, your country is mired with problems around the world. From ISIS to a stagnant economy and angry masses who think they don't win anymore. Don't lecture me about history. Fix your problems, stop being arrogant and admit your failures. On the one hand, you want to build coalitions to fight your own creation ISIS. On the other hand, you blame everyone except yourself for your own wrongful decisions. You cannot have it both ways.

As for the F-16s. We don't want your F-16s. Tell Obama to stop offering them to us.

The Pakistani army has been involved with jihadi elements in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India.

During the Afghan war in 1980 Americans were willing to arm anybody who fought the Soviets. It was ISI's idea to restrict arms to the Jihadis, You will be hard pressed to show any proof otherwise.

You are going to be amused the day Trump becomes the president of your nation.

Right now, he has wrecked your beloved Republican party to bits and pieces. What more evidence do you need? You are in denial.

Why is Trump any more a joke than numerous world leaders ? For all his faults he runs on a America first campaign.
He has not said anything about arming India. In fact he could end up hurting the IT out sourcing business to India

Yea and look where we are with this 1950s partnership ,Pak US relationship is always based on greed and do more and in this regard we have paid too much price for US sins .But ALas even today people dont realise this but Hey we will get F16

When people talk about US-Pakistan relationship they should re-write it as Pakistani army relationship with America
