Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah died on Monday Morning, 23rd December 2019 in the Military Hospital in Algiers after a heart attack, Algerian State Radio and Algerian State News Agency Reported

Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah was born in 1940 in the Batna Region, nearly 300 kilometres south-west of Algiers, and served the Algerian Army for over Six Decades after joining during Algeria's fightback against French colonial Forces in the late 1950s.

Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah Commanded Several Regions before becoming Chief of Algeria's Land Forces at the Height of a Decade-Long war pitting the Baath Regime.

After Swiftly Climbing the Ranks, Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah was Appointed Chief of Staff of the Army by Republic of Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in 2004, a position Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah maintained until his Death, despite Republic of Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's Resignation.

Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah became the Algerian Nation’s most powerful figure following the Resignation of Republic of Algeria’s Last President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in April 2019. Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah was also Reportedly Close to the Country’s New Leader, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Republic of Algeria - Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah was present at the inauguration of the country’s New President only four days ago.
