I am curious.
What is Hinduvta?
An atheist, Savarkar regards being Hinduism as an ethnic, cultural and political identity. "Hindus", according to Savarkar, are patriotic inhabitants of Bharatavarsha, those who consider India (Bharat) to be their fatherland (pitribhumi) as well as their "holyland" (punyabhumi). Savarkar thus extends the concept of "Hindu" beyond religious adherence to a term of ethnic nationalism and irredentism, identifying Hindus with the inheritors of a postulated Aryan race "indigenous" to Greater India. Sarvakar includes all Dharmic religions in the term "Hindusim" and outlines his vision of a "Hindu Rashtra" (Hindu Nation) as "Akhand Bharat" (United India), purpotedly stretching across the entire Indian subcontinent.
Hindu nationalists have the stated aim of uniting the Hindu society which is plagued by casteism, regionalism, passive religion. They have a positive outlook towards the Dalit community, which they aim to bring to leadership positions in their organizations.[9] They believe that the way Muslims and Hindus have treated each other in the past is a one-way compromise and they intend on making society more balanced and fair towards the majority Hindu population.[10] The BJP has also invited Muslims to be a part of this new society and work with the Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs for a better India.
It is wrong to impose any religion on anyone or coerce or allure one into a religion or leave a religion.
In fact, while religion maybe pristine and pure, the clergy are the scoundrels who increase the flock so that the till rings and they lead a more comfortable life. This is more so in organised religions and places of worship of all religions.
So if you live in Muslim country, you should be Muslim and if you live in Christian country, you should be Christian?
Sikhs are not Hindus, you should read this book called, HUM HINDU NAHIN. It's an dialoge between a Sikh and Hindu friend.
I have no problem with united India but is it right to you impose your thoughts and beliefs on other people?
I am very concerned about this trend as well. Christians using money and takins advantage of poor people. There is a hospital in Ludhiana called Christian Medical College. If your operation is going to cost 300,000 and you dont have money, they give you option by converting you to Christianity and reducing your bill. This is just one of many examples.
Just more thing, how the hell you quote sections? I dont know how to do that, I would really appriciate if someone can tell me.
Its not. Actually, I am not a supporter of Hindutva. Especially not the way its being used as of today.
I think you misunderstood. The objective isn't to convert everybody to Hinduism.
The objective is to expand the definition of Hindu to include all religious groups within India.
Well I guess then we agree to diagree. It's like saying I am not stabing you, I am just trying to poke you with knife.
In Bombay, Christian colleges are introducing 50% reservation for Christians.
I don't have a problem with Christianity. The problem happens when these people use all sorts of tactics to convert people. They are taught to hate hindus and treat them as inferior (thus effectively creating 2 castes).
I was reading an article in a local newspaper about the stuff they do.
I'll give an example:
The priest will bribe the village bus-driver to pretend as if the bus is not starting. After some time, the priest will ask the passengers to alight and pray to some hindu god. The bus still won't start.
Then the priest will ask them to pray to Jesus and viola! The engine starts!
Then they will bribe the village doctor to give fake medicines to hindus and real ones to Christians.
Of course, Hindu priests have been fooling the gullible for centuries, but atleast they don't make them hate their own country and people.
This is very concerning. I live in the west and I see lots of Christian ministries raising money to expant Christianity. They goal to convert 1 million people some even have 100 million target. I am not against people changing thier riligion but thier tactics are very concerning.
There is a quote button above the reply box - right between the picture button and the hash (code) button.
SA,
There are cahrlatans in all religions and the incident you hve narrated about the bus starting is quite disgraceful a conduct on the part of the priest and I sure would to believe that it was a one off case.
This type of chicanery is not what Christianity stands for, at least, as I understand Christianity.
