I am from Muzafferabad and proudly called myself nationalist Pakistani. My family migrated from Jammu to Sialkot in 1947 and in 1951 shifted in Azad Kashmir.

As a nationalist Pakistani, I am not satisfy with Pakistani policy regarding Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (Pakistani state still living in 1947-48 Erra as far as AJK and GB is concerned ) and firmly believe that status co policy towards these area will prove very dangerous for Pakistan national interest becuase Pro independent people in Azad Kashmir gaining momentum day by day and within few years they will become majority in Azad Kashmir and they will push same sentiments in Gilgit Baltistan within 15-20 years . ( currently 30% people in AJK and 2% people in Gilgit Baltistan support independent Kashmir )

Pakistan have to take some steps if Pak wanted to secure Pakistani interests in these areas. Pakistan should hold referendum in these areas immediately under the supervision of OIC , Referendum will not only secure Pakistan strategic interests in these area but will also provide moral victory to Pakistan in front of civilized world .

Look tbh if Indians can muster some limping support for Baloch resistance and PTM they can do it in GB and AJK aswell. Their goal will be to make local population so pro independence that Pakistan itself shys away from carrying out referendum beacause it would mean losing GB and AJK for a win in IOK.So strike while the iron is hot. Intergrate them into Pakistani fiber. Employ them all over Pakistan. Make them so invested into Pakistan that the mind cannot even comprehend leaving Pakistan. This was what India should have done if they wanted to win over kashmiri muslims aswell but they chose force. Donot repeat their mistake . We don't want 1971 all over again.

Ur right and i think it has already hapenned. Ajk and GB are fully integrated in Pakistan. GB is very pro Pakistan and so is AJK. The local tourism and migrations have played a big role.

Pakistan will easily secure Gilgit Baltistan by more than 98% votes in favor of Pakistan, remember people of GB always irritate if some one call them Kashmir and already showed their anger against AJK High court decision which states that " GB is part of kashmir ",

As far as AJK is concerned, more than 25 lakh kashmiri living in Pakistan since 1947-48. They will prove our trump card in securing AJK as well with huge margin

yes almost 100% GB love Pakistan and proudly call themselves as Pakistani and majority of AJk people also want to live with Pakistan. But legally they are not part of our state which can prove costly for us.

Brother let's not be alarmist here the pro independence people will never be the majority nor do they have any sort of power either. As for the 30% figure I'm sorry that is way off the mark. The powerbase lies with us (Pakistan first) our people hold the military and political strength across the region along with the numbers. It was far worse in the early 90's with JKLF and they still couldn't muster the numbers to do anything.
Let's say we hold a referendum and of course win it, does it change anything? It won't, India will dismiss it as sham and the world generally doesn't take any notice anyway.
It's best to work towards getting the valley and then doing what we want. Patience and hardwork is needed.
By the way my entire generation formed the ranks of AKRF and I belong to a very respected family in the region whose sacrifices are well known in the struggle for Kashmir.

Pakistan already have done that. There is reserved quota for GB, AJK in federal which is greater proportionally then their population. In army they are 10% while population is only 3-4% in Pakistan. Indians dance around if single Kashmiri is recruited in their army. Forget about Kashmiris, Indian muslims make up like 3% of army.

And you can find average citizens of AJK/GB all over Pakistan. 1971 was more of case of being 2200Km away and issues that come up with that like little historical connection ethnically or otherwise.

But one can always find people who are willing to sell but they will not be majority.

how u can say it ? whats wrong in asking people of Pakistani administered Kashmir whether they want to become part of Pakistan permanently or want Independence.

It's legally a disputed territory, and Pakistan can only hope to ensure people are happy. If people are not happy, there's nothing more Pakistan can do to make them happy.

At the same time, it's not reasonable for people to expect an independent state given the current circumstances, and they also cannot reasonably expect a vote for independence until the state is completely free of occupation.

Pakistan can only wok in their best interest, and hope they understand.

Too risky.

Even if 25% people vote for freedom and another 10 to 15% abstain, things will be very confusing. India will say - even with oppression and army threats you could not get all to agree.

This comparison is moot.

Most Muslims WILL CHOOSE NOT TO live with Hindus or Sikhs in India now. That is why they are using force. It will not work either.
