Red star rising? China’s space ambitions skyrocket as the US loses ground in race

To date, the best race is still the Moon, of which no one else have set FOOT on.

Who has the most knowledge and experience in REUSABLE vehicles ? US. Not Russia. Not China.

No argument here, but it is not my point. The way you fled the moment you saw "RT" was funny. It reminded me of North Koreans run away from western reporters at Pinyon.

What you can do in the past doesn't mean what you can do now or the future, Many US space scientists are also concerned about China overtaking and not getting enough fund. We just started and the future looks very bright.

US and Russia used to be in a fierce race in the space and they bled themselves dry just in order to be better than the other, that's not the case for China, we are not in a hurry and we do it one thing at a time, we never put all we have trying to beat anyone. Without unconditional support by US government like the case during the cold war, US lost much of its abilities in the space.

Yes, Its not about Russian or China not having the tech on reusable vehicle. The very fact about American invention is they seek innovation without considering the cost. This eats up alot of funds and is the reason why large number of US projects abandon and affected further one as funds dry up.

US reusable vehicle like Columbia space shuttle is so expensive than disposable Soyuz capsule. Same as American rocket vs Russian/Chinese rocket. Delta IV maybe a very power and efficient rocket. Great payload and thrust to weight ratio but is very expensive to launch and hamper many ISS program or US space program.

Chinese CZ-5 may have slight inferior thrust to weight ratio than US Delta IV but the cost to launch our rocket for space station is far cheaper using liquid oxygen than using US technology. There is a reason why US wants to get out of ISS by 2024.

Then show everyone some credible evidences that the US cannot build rockets.

Here is something that will surprise you PDF Chinese...

The basic technology of the rocket have NOT changed. Yes, we have made the rocket more efficient and in the process more powerful, but as a propulsion method, it has not evolved. It cannot evolve. In evolutionary terms, the rocket have reached its apex.

On the other hand, the Space Shuttle was genuinely an evolutionary vehicle. Before the Space Shuttle, we essentially throw away every spacecraft. With the Space Shuttle, we reuse it after every flight. Sure, the thing was limited and inefficient in many ways. But that is how progress is made. The first generation set the examples on what works, what does not, and what works but needs improvement.

Show everyone who matched US just by the Space Shuttle program alone...

...And not counting other scientific accomplishments like satellites and pure science research in space.

RT news as a credible source ? Only with the PDF Chinese.

Almost all major countries can build rockets, what I m saying is that US can't do what used to be able to do in many fields and that's very obvious. RT is a new sources just as good as western source, they both are biased in some way. Western media is full of lies is also a well known fact.

If it is so 'obvious' then you should have no problems proving it.

Let us start with the rocket, to date the only way we know how to get to space. Show everyone some credible evidences, including from RT news, that the US no longer know how to build rockets.

Where did I say that US can no longer make rockets?

This is straight hilarious. Buts Its RT, so of course they would say this. They gotta push that "The West is in decline" narrative.

Last time I checked the US is landing people on an asteroid in 2026, Mars in 2035, and China isn't.

Remind me again when the LM-9 is expected to come online? Oh thats right, a full decade or more after SLS. End of Story.

What keeps US NASA awake at night is not that China is ahead, but it is because China's space program is run by very capable people and has a long term vision with step by step action plans to get there.

Your problem is NASA. SLS is nothing but a short term fix using old technology to save time and development money .... and their jobs.
SLS uses the same solid boasters as the shuttle. It still uses the same hydrogen engine as the shuttle main engines.

So it will end up just as expensive as the Delta 4 Heavy. Heck why not just use more of the Delta 4 heavy. Why even border to fund the SLS ?

China is already on its way with its cheap and reliable kerosene engine, boasters, 1st stage and all. That is the way to go.

US is still stuck with vision less NASA.

We will take that as a concession that the US is not behind anyone in rocket propulsion.

Now...Show everyone some credible evidences, including from RT news, that the US no longer know how to build satellites.

Cheaper , better and more cost effective :enjoy:

Innovation from Chinese.
That is about WHAT a satellite does.

We will take your failed comment as a concession that the US is still in the satellite making business and we make some damn good ones.

Next is long duration humans in space.

Between manager A with 15 yrs on the job vs manager B with 10 yrs on the job, there is negligible beneficial knowledge on how to manage an organization that B can learn from A.

Right now, the Russians still holds the record on how long a human being can live in zero gravity. But that does not mean the US is ignorant of the medical issues involving human physiology and zero g environment. The medical knowledge gap is simply -- not that great. No one knows everything. So the Russians may know something more in-depth, the Americans may know something else more in-depth, and China is a new comer to the field. Nevertheless, we can be generous and say that China is on a par with the US and Russia on human physiology in zero g for long duration space travel.

So where is it that the US is no longer competitive in space ? Only in PDF, not in the real world.

Chairman Smith Opening Statement: Are We Losing the Space Race to China

US officials are not as optimistic as American and Indian PDF users here.

.
you chinese are lucky. you can make ridiculous claims here and if anyone challenges it, they might get banned

There are plenty of "ridiculous claims" from your countrymen, for example, some people insist that India would come out with 132.8 exaflops super-supercomputer by 2017, and he has not been banned. :partay:
