Reaction of the Americans to the Japanese natural disasters

Well, you do not have either "the rape of nanking" or "pearl harbor". That is why you can say that.

BTW, japanese government never acknowledge such animal brutality against civilians. It calls "invasion of China" as "entrance into China" in its textbook. That is why a lot of Chinese indeed never trust those japanese and that is why you have a lot of Chinese people are happy for such japanese earthquake, even though it is tragedy.

i think those people saying that stuff r peices of crap!!

my country was at war with the japanese in ww2, and there hasnt been anything said like that here that im aware of, everyone feels for them, ww2 is the past, they are our friends and allies

im sure there will be people even here making jokes and crap like that

but it is wrong, these are innocent people.

there was one idiot american killed cuz of tsunami in america, he wanted to get closer look at the tsunami... wouldnt be suprised if those scumbags on facebook and twitter tried to blame japan for that too

finally you have a chinese speaking the truth...as I have said and know all along. In india we have a special comment for your guys " 3rd rate ghati"

I hope after Japanese army sacked new delhi, and killed and raped more than 300,000 indians, you can still say you forgive them even though its government and textbooks would say it has never done such atrocity.

We can because we can differentiate between humanity and history--- we don't blame children for the faults of their parents.

Really? That really surprises me. It does not seem that way from all the posts from india members I have read from this forum.

BTW, it is not that simple as saying "blame children for the faults of their parents" since this atrocity was sanctioned by the japanese government and army. It was systematic, not just some random animal brutality.

I can see why the Chinese would think this way.

The Japanese government should offer unconditional apology for the dastardly crimes on the Chinese people. Not doing so will keep the issue open and there may well be hell to pay at a latter time.

I know Chinese people can never forget those atrocities. They may be at the back burner for now but there may be a leader sometime in the future who may bring it to the front and bring to the surface the hidden angst.

That JayAtl guy dragged my response and created another thread called: Chinese reaction to Japanese earthquake. Well, he simply just wanted to demonize me or more Chinese people.

He basically tried his best label me either as some kind of monster without feelings or whatever.

Well, I have posted my replies there but that thread has been deleted because so many twisted posts are there.

My post initially just tried to explain why people in US or China have such feeling and such feeling has its historical root, and are not generating from nowhere.

I see people label them as "nuts", "stupid people" or "extremist" or even worse. Well, I do not think they should be labeled that way and that is why I wrote my post.

Think about two pilots who dropped the nuclear bombs on japan during WWII. One was very regretful later in his life for causing so many japanese dead then. The other was indeed very proud for doing so to punish the japanese atrocity, end the war and save hundreds of thousands of US soldiers' lives. He said in various interviews that he never regretted for one second for doing so for America.

Well, you want to label one as hero, the other as monster? Or one as hero, the other as traitor?

Without deep understanding of an issue and simply drawing an conclusion, many members here are just like that.

As far as for WWII japanese atrocity against China and other asian countries, it was documented very well historically. However, japan has never even acknowledged its criminal brutality, let alone apologize or show its remorse, and tries its best to gloss over such historical atrocity. It tries its best to erase such history from its textbooks or any kinds of media. Any people who dare to tell the truth are harassed, threatened or killed. The current generation of japanese have no or little knowledge about what happened more than 70 years ago. It even put its war criminals into shrine to let common japanese to pay tribute to those bastards. Those who forget history will unfortunately see history repeats itself. That is why we Chinese never trust it since we do not know what the real intent is behind japanese's polite smile, deep bow or seemingly kind words. Historically, japan always wants to invade china since we are just so resourceful. It was defeated many times at least since Tang dynasty up to Ming dynasty but took advantage of us during our weakest time after two opium wars and various internal rebellions, civil wars.

Germany has the guts to fully acknowledge and apologized officially for its past atrocity, put it into textbooks to educate the young generations, tried its best to compensate a great sum to those victims, and outlaw any nazi related propaganda. His premier minister knelt down in Israel to show his country's true remorse. Even with those, many past victims still would not forgive it.

How about the japanese? It has done none of the above but the opposite. You still think Chinese people generate such feelings from nowhere???

Anyway, my original post was simply written for explanation, not intended to bash anyone. It seems that some members here are only interested in twisting my words, intentions and taking that out of contexts.

From those anti-japan posts, you clearly can see the real relation between China and japan is not healthy at all. The deep mistrust of japan is rooted historically. From this point of view, I think it is japan who need show its sincerity and acknowledge the history in the right way. Only then, the two countries may be back to a normal path for developing healthy relationship.
