RAW analysis - India And Bangladesh Must Come Together

It is not an analysis by RAw Mr. MBI Munshi.

Secondly, M/s Shiek Hasina is doing a superb job in development of Bangladesh. Also the mafia are on the run now and BD looking forward to assume it's right place in world economy. India should do everything it can to help the people of BD in their development.

Did ever indian media mention that sheikh Mujib stop multi party democracy and established on party system of govt. in BD? Did indian
media or so called analysts ever mention that he established Rakkhi
bahini to elemenate his political oponents ? Did they mention that
this rakkhi bahini was equipped and trained by india ?

I guess not. That is reason of india bashing in BD !!

India bashing has nothing to do with Mujib or Rakkhi Bahini or one party system. Even USSR was against the formation of BAKSAL let alone India. Rakkhi bahini was extensively used against JSD (a leftist party which took up arms against the state) and not against India bashers. There were very few things Mujib did which could actually please India.

This shows your prejudice ,and as some claims you are on ISI payroll, towards awami govt. They are doing a good job according to many in BD. You should try to view them from a neutral point of view.

As for your RAW claims, everyone is aware you are suffering from RAW paranoia so you will look towards India from that state of mind only.

The claim that I am on the ISI payroll comes from another RAW website the Policy Research Group.

It is an analysis from a RAW analyst.
You and your RAWtitis. Unfortunately there is no antidote for this disease.

Anyway. A couple of days agao Anandabazar Patrika, a Bengali local newspaper, reported that GoI is prepared to go out of the way to help BD. $ 500 million credit, supply of electricity, corridor to Bhutan and Nepal etc. will all be on the roaster. Not only that, GoI is willing to make unilateral compromises on Ms Hasina's demands, so long as these do not come in severe conflict with Indian interest. In return, India will make the usual demand of corridor to NE etc, but will not push Ms Hasina to deliver.

New Delhi is of the opinion that nothing will be demanded from Ms Hasina that will put her in trouble in domestic politics. It is possible that - much to the chagrin of the Munshis and Zakirs - this tour may just turn out to be a historic turning point in Indo-BD relationship.

If the report is true then its indeed a good news..Bangladesh under Khalida Zia is not at all good for Indo-Bangladesh relations..our relations become worst under her..Its good that India is helping her neighbors..hope people will notice it..

India is not helping BD. It is helping itself. If India does not get transit then RAW will create instability in BD. When the winter is over and the Himalayan passes are clear India will need a corridor facility to get its military supplies into the North East. That at least is India's thinking right now. India would sacrifice Hasina for their wider strategic requirements.

India has been sending its military supplies to NE for the last 60 odd years with no help from BD. Thank you very much. Of course the corridor through BD would reduce time lag and expenditure, but other than that, nothing.

You wish that. Don't you. If only wishes were Unicorns.

Your bluster does not hide the fact that blocking the Shilguri pass would suffocate India hence the requirement for a corridor through BD.

Even at the time of Pakistan creation there were a deep devidation in Bengal's politics. The secular faction led by Jinnah, Fazlul Haque, Sohrawardy joined Muslim League only for a separate economic and political entity for Muslims but not to build a fanatic state called Pakistan. But their ideology was hijacked by original Muslim Leaguers and Pakistan army and created a sense of insecurity among ordinary people and India bashing and Islam were used as a trump card for their own political mileage and power. Awami League was formed due to this deep rooted philoshopical dividataion as well as Bhutto formed PPP and both of these parties in East and West represented the secular faction of then Pakistan and which proved that most muslims population in East and West Pakistan were infact Secular not Fanatics which Al-Zakir tried to prove otherwise all the time.

Is it off topic???
It is true to the extent that Jinnah's vision was subverted. I wouldn't call it a hijacking as each person has claimed to follow upon Jinnah's ideals, but I'd say yes that the circumstances led us astray from where Jinnah had originally envisioned.

Neither are we a fanatic state now, just contain a fringe element fighting it out in our tribal areas. Our culture, our arts and our ordinary people excelling in all walks of global life are a testament to that.

Your one paragraph summary of the history of Pakistan does a lot of injustice to the actual truth.

...and who would do this mythical 'blocking' of Shiliguri pass.

.
We should make sure that Hasina leaves with not one, but 2 bags full if it means that we can build a lasting friendship with Bangladesh. Neither country needs an enemy at their doorstep, some illiterate people don't understand that, but if we make compromises now we'll shut them up once and for all.

I did not write the history of Pakistan only tried to point out that most people in both east and west pakistan were infact secular which might be true till this day.

It is the potential of blocking that keeps India awake at night. Who would do such a think should remain for now speculative. India has so many internal and external challanges that anything is possible.

Ms. Hasina’s visit is expected to be beneficial in this regard.

During the visit, the Indian side is expected to announce a credit line of up to USD 500 million.

India has been looking “sensitively” at issues relating to tariffs on goods from Bangladesh and has made a provision for duty-free import of eight million pieces of garments.

Benefits under the Least Developed Country (LDC) are also being extended to Bangladesh, as a result of which the list of sensitive items for import has been pruned considerably.

In the energy sector, the two countries will sign a power exchange MoU providing for import and export of electricity amounting to over 900 million units per annum depending on availability, need and price, the sources said here.

The price and various modalities for exchange of power will be worked out later for the MoU under which about 250 MW of power is expected to be exchanged initially and eventually it could touch 1,000 MW.

Energy-deficient Bangladesh will receive the power from Indian grids in West Bengal and Tripura.

The two sides are also working to ink an agreement on Teesta River water sharing.

The Hindu : News / National : India, Bangladesh to sign three pacts during Hasina visit

grow up son........If BD is giving help. There will be no question that India will not help. It's a start of new era.Its up to you...you want extermist or prosper economy
