Accused threatened survivor
On October 31, the 32-year-old man went to the woman's home when she was alone and allegedly raped her. The accused allegedly threatened the woman and warned her against sharing the incident with anyone.
The woman, however, narrated her ordeal to her husband but the couple did not lodge a complaint with the police. The lack of retaliation from the woman encouraged the accused and he started pressurising her to meet him, Hindustan Times reported.
Accused immolated the woman's husband and her daughter
The woman refused to meet the accused and after a while, her husband went to the police station and lodged an FIR. When the accused learned about the complaint, he reached the survivor's house and set her ablaze. The accused immolated the woman's husband and her daughter when they rushed to her rescue.
When the police went to the accused's residence to arrest the accused, his mother alleged that he had suffered injuries and was admitted to a hospital. Gwalior police superintendent Amit Sanghi said, "We are also inquiring about the accusations made by the victim that police at Thatipur police station did not lodge her rape complaint..." The accused has not been arrested yet.
