Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Lol mate i am more of a vocal supporter of the Ram Mandir than most of the members here. However i am also a rational person and i believe that given the current political situation in this country,it's not possible for us to build the temple alone on that land. There are too many secularists who want Mr.Modi's head in a platter and if he goes ahead and builds the Temple now then they will get the perfect weapon to attack his credentials. So the best possible solution is to build a temple and a mosque side by side and finish this matter for good. After all i don't see why we should have any problem if a mosque is build beside the Ram Mandir. We'll get our temple and the Muslim community also have something to cheer about at the same time. It's a win-win situation for both of us....:coffee:

You may be a vocal supporter but of what use is a support that crumbles on the first sign of trouble. :disagree:

What use is an army of cowardly soldiers who would shout a lot but run away when the enemy advances and call running away 'rational' and safe. I would much rather have a smaller army of people who have the courage to stand by their convictions. History is always made from such armies.

What use is a fair weathered friend ? he does more harm than good.

Political situations can change. That is what armies does. Everybody loves a winner. If Modi is successful in building a Mandir then the same people who oppose him will celebrate him. The will only criticise him if he looses a battle, be it ram mandir or economy. That is the way of the world.

The mosque has no business being attached to a temple. A temple and its surrounding cannot be polluted by meat eaters, especially beef eaters. It goes against the basic tenet of the faith. That is why non hindus are not allowed in temples.

Its NOT a Win win. its a Lose-Win in favour of the muslims.

We will see :D
Modi is more like a person of practicable politics than a typical local right wingers...
Mike brandos solution is a practicable one..Mandhir and Masjid in one compound..They are many places in Kerala like that..so i don't think its a impractical...
Or you should elect dimwits like Praveen thogadia or thackerey as PM...

Modi did fine when he avenged the godhra train burning and established peace in Gujarat once and for all :coffee:

He IS a "practical" politician. He practices what he preaches. In this case its the manifesto.

Mandir Masjid solution has been rejected long back by the Waqf board itself. Anyway we are going away from the topic. :D

On topic -
There is no dearth of place in the world. We also allow buildings from all faiths - on some reasonable considerations. Only the Ram temple will have a place in the Ram Janmabhoomi. :)
Mosques can be built elsewhere as well, but the temple's claim to the land is the land itself. The mosque had no such requirement. It was called Masjid e Janmasthan before though.

Nope, try writing Rama and Ram in hindi, they look same (राम,राम)

However in sanskrit there is a clear distinction in Ram and Rama in written form..(राम्, राम)

so out of laziness or something rama, was made ram in hindi..

Words ending with consonants are not pleasant to speak as well to hear...

however words ending in consonant + vowel form are more easy to pronounce and sounds pleasant..

This is the problem in newer languages as they run out of pleasant sounding words...

Casual poster has already corrected your first mistake about hindi, let me correct you second mistake.

Sanskrit grammar has something called Shabdh Roop, or word styles. Words change depending on their ling i.e. male, female and third geneder, their Ahvanam i.e. verb of which there are 10+1 like singular, plural, dual, first person, second person, third person etc.

The name "Ram" when used in the various Shabdh roop become ramah ramau ramaah ramam ramau raman ramein ramabhyam rameh ramaya ramabhyam ramebhyah ramat ramabhyam ramabhyah ramasya ramyoh ramanamrame ramyoho rameshu he ram! he ramau!he ramaah!

This is the root cause of the confusion by people who do not understand sanskrit grammar and misunderstand the world to mean Rama and not Ram.

Sanskrit verb is both thematic and athematic which means it may or may not end in a vowel, again depending on context and use.

Togadia is easily electable only if he contested, but as per the policy of RSS and VHP they do not contest the polls unless they are out of the organization. Togadia has more important things to do than become a CM. Even Thackeray could have been CM if he wanted to, only he never held an official post in his life even when his party men were made CM or deputy CMs. So there are stuff you wont understand about Hindu organizations and people. They are not power hungry, but work for a cause more often than not silently.

Again, I told you I do not want a few names here and there, but was looking for data for the representation of scientists of Bengali origin considering no other society is so obsessed with scientific temper. I mean look at South, people are sometimes fanatically religious here and no one talks of scientific temper so obsessively, but they seem to outnumber the Bengali scientists. For eg, just look at the list below, there are 130+ scientists mentioned there, and only 11-12 seem to be from Bengal, give a number or two more since I could have overlooked some unfamiliar Bengali names.

List of Indian scientists - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's around 20,plus you also have to consider the fact that although they are only 20 renowned ones among the Indian scientific diaspora but still they have contributed much to the international scientific community. At least 2 of them deserved Nobel prize but didn't get that because they were born in British India.J.C.Bose was the first one to invent radio transmission but because he was a citizen of an enslaved nation the honor of discovering it was bestowed upon Mr.Marconi who was an Italian influential scientist at that time.Heck a few years back when Marconi's grandson visited Kolkata he himself acknowledged the fact that it was J.C.Bose who was the real inventor of radio transmission and not his grandad. The same goes with S.N.Bose who deserved a Nobel for his proposed Bose-Einstein Condensation theory but the scientific community didn't understand the true potential f his discovery until the recent CERN experiment proved him absolutely right. So it's not fair to judge them with the other Indian scientists because of their significant contribution in the field of Modern science...:coffee:

Look mate it seems that we don't share the same mentality here.I for one have got no objection if a mosque is constructed in the vicinity of the proposed Ram Mandir.I have got utmost respect for my Dharmic culture and religion but that doesn't mean that i should show disrespect to other religions. My Dharma doesn't teach me to criticize and ridicule other religions.I take a great pride of being a Dharmic follower and Sanathan Dharma has taught us from the time immemorial to respect the faiths and beliefs of our fellow human beings. Now you can call me a coward or an eunuch i simply don't care.
My personal belief is that we shouldn't make a mountain out of molehill by escalating this situation.I also want to see the Ram Mandir becoming a reality but not at the expense of communal violence. That's all...:coffee:

If Nobel is the only measure for you, there are 3 Nobel laureates from South for science compared to none from WB and 1 from Punjab. It is your subjective opinion that what the Bengali scientists did was greater than any other Indian scientist and not borne out by any evidence.

Again, you miss the point. The point was not to belittle any scientists from any corner of India, but to evaluate whether the adoption of the so called scientific temper by sections of the society has borne commensurate result. Considering literally every Bengali out there is militantly atheist or dismissive of religion (making an exception of you and some others) in a very brash abrasive manner, what I do not see is a commensurate output from that society in matters of science say compared to the South where this obsession with science is missing as well the topnotch scientists themselves are rather religious in their outlook.

I don't care what kind of mentality you have. I only have objections when you claim you are a vocal supporter of Ram Temple when you clearly are not. You are just another fence sitter.

As long as you stop pretending to be a strong supporter of Ram Temple I have no problem. You are free to practice all kind of weird practices and continue to call them hinduism or modernism or marxism or whatever other ism.

I did not call you a coward but gave an example of a cowardly army, if the shoe fits then so be it.

You can continue to let FEAR be you guiding philosophy much like the rest of Indians here, you let that fear guide your decision making for the rest of your life. I chose to let Righteousness be my guiding light.

Mate the only logical solution to this never ending problem is to divide the land equally among the Hindus and the Muslims and let them build their respective places of worship side by side.It will be the best for all of us plus it will help us generate significant goodwill between the two communities which will definitely come handy in the future.Plus the site will be seen as a place of communal harmony just like the one we have in Tollygaunge(Mandir and Mosque built side by side). What's your take in this matter??

This thread (currently full of idiotic trash talks only) is lost somewhere losing all it's purpose. Nothing interesting anymore that could be discussed. So better I leave this topic as of now.

Yeah it's a shame that the majority of the Bengali people lost their belief somehow during the last century.Personally i blame the Commies for this. These bast**ds(pardon my language ma'am) literally ruined the Bengali culture and civilization with all their marxist crap. They made sure that the younger generations were being brainwashed in such a manner that they literally develop a sense of hatred for their own culture and religion when they grow up.I am a bit different because i grew up in a Dharmic enviroment and did my schooling from a reputed Dharmic residential school where it was mandatory for us to go to the prayer hall twice a day wearing dhoti and uttariya and chanting vedic slokas.Plus there was a special subject called the Indian Culture which was compulsory until class X.The Sannyasins literally imparted in us the values and ethics of our Dharmic civilization and basically made us proud of our culture and religion.Hence my mentality differs from most of the ordinary Bengali populace.
