Railway linking China, ASEAN becomes operational

799px-Asian_Highway_1.png

AH1 is the longest route of the Asian Highway Network, running 12,845 miles (20,557 km) from Tokyo, Japan via Korea, China, Southeast Asia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran to the border between Turkey and Bulgaria west of Istanbul where it joins end-on with European route E80.

Gauges
1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) (2169 km)
1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) (standard gauge, 178 km)
1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) and 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) (dual gauge, 253 km)

Plz build it by standard gauge first, else its only a dream.

Same problem for Indian.
Indian railways uses four gauges, the 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) broad gauge which is wider than the 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) standard gauge; the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) metre gauge; and two narrow gauges, 762 mm (2 ft 6 in) and 610 mm (2 ft) . Track sections are rated for speeds ranging from 75 to 160 km/h (47 to 99 mph).

This AH1 goes through Bangladesh. India wants to use AH1 to get a transit/corridor from "mainland India" to North East states of India, while Bangladesh want the route to exit to our border with Myanmar, not to Indian North East states. So we have an impasse, mainly because Myanmar does not agree to our preferred route. If AH1 goes through existing planned route, Bangladesh may not allow Indian origin traffic between two parts of India through Bangladesh due to security concern, but all other traffic will be allowed.

Ask India to give BD a direct transit to China using India's chicken neck and Sikkim so you can build seaport and export oil directly to Tibet by rail:omghaha:, BD than will make alot of money. Myanmar pipeline for Kunming, Gwadar for Kashgar and Xinjiang. Ask them also Transit for Bhutan electric and Transit direct to Myanmar :azn:

Which is balance?

Because most of the infrastructure is funded by private sector. 13% is not so high. Its less than 2% of GDP.

It seems you are making fun of him.

GDP cant to improve the living conditions of the indian people and cant biuld infrastructure for indian people ,It only by Central Government Expenditure and Central Government revenues.

If your Government cost much money to Defence Budget,It means that you only less money to Education ,Health and others infrastructure.

※Share of Defence Budget in Central Government revenues (%) 23.58

It means that a quarter of Central Government revenues to make your army. Not high?

Nope I'm very serious

Your comment will be heart breaking for many Bangladeshi. Myanmarese are easier to negotiate than Bangladeshis.

India is Federation apart from Central government, state governments too have their own budget and taxation.

I mentioned private sector, this is based on Public private partnership which has lion's share in our GDP.

very good new indeed

KUNMING, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- A railway that links southwest China's Yunnan Province with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries became operational on Saturday after seven years of construction, local railway authorities said.

The railway between Yuxi and Mengzi is part of the eastern line of the planned Pan-Asia Railway network.

The 141-km railway has a designed maximum speed of 120 km per hour. It passes through 35 tunnels and crosses 61 bridges, which together account for 54.95 percent of the eastern line's total length.

The eastern line also consists of Kunming-Yuxi Railway, which had been in operation, and the Mengzi-Hekou Railway that is under construction and scheduled to be operational end of next year.
