Detention, release of 2 railway officials shrouded in mystery
Dhaka, Apr 10 (UNB) - Mystery shrouded the detention and release of Railways Ministers Assistant Personal Secretary and Railway General Manager GM (East) with Tk 70 lakh at BGB Pilkhana Headquarters.
Intelligence sources said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained Railways Minister Suranjit Senguptas APS Omar Faruque Talukder and Railway GM Yusuf Ali Mridha after a car carrying them entered the BGB Headquarters at about 11:30pm on Monday.
According to the sources, Faruque and Yusuf were carrying illegal money of Tk 70 lakh in the car.

As Faruque and Yusuf refused to pay him the amount, he drove the car into the BGB Headquarters and urged the on-duty BGB men to search the vehicle.
Later, the BGB members recovered the illegal money and kept the two detained in Pilkhana. But, the BGB men released the duo with the money and vehicle on Tuesday noon.
It is not clear yet why the border guards set them free after the overnight detention.
