Raheel Sharif to become the Army Chief of an unprecedented military force

IMO, he was officially requested to take command of IMAFT by Saudi Prince, during his last visit to Pakistan whereby no decision of Yes or No, was made as RS was serving as COAS. However, it would be great to see him leading the alliance as it would help to bring close all the countries whereby, PA experience that is widely acknowledged, would be shared and will be helpful to train the alliance force against terrorism. Also, by leading such force, it will be helping to strengthen the security by manifolds for all the alliance countries including Pakistan.

Is this really correct. Any source please?

According to leading news agency, Daily Pakistan, it has been revealed that General (R) Raheel Sharif has accepted to take command over an Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT). However, the authority has been accepted upon certain terms.

With his remarkable counter strikes and undying war against terrorism, Gen (R) Raheel Sharif has undoubtedly gained immense popularity, worldwide. His efforts have taken the country to its lowest level of terrorism since 2006 with an overall decline of 70% in terrorist attacks under his tenure.

According to sources of Daily Pakistan, former COAS has showed his readiness towards the charge of the 39-nation military alliance, IMAFT. However, he kept the condition that he will also be empowered to play the role of an arbitrator between the belligerent groups in the Middle East. He has clearly refused to take charge of a force that fights only for a single country.

On the other hand, Iran has assured that it would accept Pakistan’s role as a mediator in the Yemen crisis if the general takes command of IMAFT with an authority of arbitrator.

With further news revealed, the general had expressed his willingness for the arbitration during his meeting with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, whereas the Turkish leadership has also been informed of the establishment in this regard.

The official proposal was initially presented to Gen Raheel Sharif by Saudi Arabia after which similar requests were put forward by Iran. Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT), founded on December 15, 2015, is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The foundation was initially laid with the military alliance of 34 nations and by March 2016 they rose to 39 nations.

The purpose behind this military alliance of Muslim countries in the world is to counter ISIL and other anti-terrorist activities across the Middle East and other countries.

The members of this Muslim military alliance include; Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Turkey, Bahrain, Bangladesh, UAE, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt and Jordan.

Don't you worry Gen. Bajwa will, inshaAllah, do the same. As a Muslim and a Pakistani, I believe this is Allah's will and blessing upon Pakistan and He will give capabilities to anyone who takes the command of Pakistan army and leads it to the success. Gen. Bajwa is equally qualified and experienced and he has already indicated to continue the mission / operation. I'm actually getting sick of this cynicism and stupidity of our nation about Gen Bajwa and more importantly, do we have any faith in Allah?
Before Gen. Raheel's appointment as COAS, did they expect him to take over the command and perform like that? Gen. Kiani really lowered their expectations but it was Allah's will that he got the job and he did an excellent job but I think, Gen Bajwa will do even better inshaAllah and take it to the logical end within his three years of command.

He has already finished his job and retired gracefully after doing an excellent job. Rather it is an honour for Pakistan to lead this army and do a good job, if he accepts and goes with it. Wish him best of luck for success.

If above news is true then it is a positive sign to stop blood shed among two Muslim sects and division. I wonder how a sane Muslim can oppose arbitration between Iran and KSA.

On the other hand if he is retried then he is free to earn money by any means which are not harmful to his mother land. Only few in country like Pak have the heart to sacrifice their 80 Million plus resources/benefits for a noble cause i.e donation to Shuhda Foundation.
