A we stil debating if a 3rd generation 30 year F16/52 is equal to or nearly equal to a late 4th generation fighter only 5 years old with state of the art equipment. COSTING twice as much.
I,M sure the one squdron of 18 F16/52 will be useful in PAF. but they will need some help i think.
you really have no idea about what your talking about, Please do some research before posting such things.
from where wikipedia "the famous Indian Research Engine"?
Yes, that is correct. F16 is the best. Proven and reliable. India just wants some new toys and is wasting money.
THE F16/ block 60 THE ULTIMATE FLACON a generation a head the 18 block 52s in PAF where tested to the limit by IAF.
The IAF knows the best F16 BLOCK 60 inside and out it was DEEMED inadequate for IAF future needs.
Its 9-10 billion not 15.They are about to blow $15 billion on this deal so if they WANT either RAFALE OR TYPHOON that is enough SAID about the this debate.
PAF uses 52+.F16/52 is formidable opponent regardless nevetheless
PAF uses 52+.
Its un-just to comment on performance of F16IN without details of IAF's evaluation...with CFTs Bk52/60 can reach the 9-G limit without under wing tanks, once you add 2X 370 Gallon tanks it becomes a heavy-machine and can't reach the best performance (5G is max if i am not mistaken)....but again the main question is who needs to have underwing tanks intact with CFTs in BVR dogfight? SOPs of air combat have changed alot since the modernization of weapons, its not the old days of WVR or guns...,pilots decide very quickly about jettisoning fuel tanks, in case of problem the leave the hot zone.CFTs slightly decreases the performance...on the other hand it gives 20-40% more range to the a/c depending upon this mission...for long-range strike missions CFTs are really a handy tool.According to Tellis' sources in the IAF, the F-16IN bid received low marks in the technical evaluation for a slow turn rate and poorer handling performance due to the addition of conformal fuel tanks.
