Could not agree with you more sir. The sad reality is that this is becoming all too common, when the politicians are doing it (see Sonia Gandhi and her comments on the peace accord with the Nagas) then why not the "journalists", I've never seen too much significance given to ideals such as "integrity" and "honesty" when it comes to the Indian media. Whatever garners TRPs and political mileage is the order of the day.

It is frustrating that India missed out on a lot of good weapon systems because of political corruption, red tape and domestic PSU lobby.

India likes to boast about having the 4th largest army. While it is true another thing is also true that the army is woefully ill-equipped. INSAS rifles which should never have been inducted in first place, no modern tube arty, no self-propelled arty, no modern tank barring T-90, no modern communication gear, no NVG, no ballistic protection.

India is unable to import modern weapons and the worthless PSUs are unable to produce the same in India.

There are more than enough funds to clinch all pending deals- fact. All pending deals are pending because of one reason or another (The MoD are very inventive when it comes to finding new sticking points) but a lack of funds are not behind it- no one has stated this in either the military, bidders, media, MoD or finance ministry.

As I have said, there is no reason for a funds issue to exist, not with the shape the Indian economy is in.
