Rafale snag in UAE bid

I dont think its in the destiny of Rafale to win any export orders. i think its good that UAE dont buy these aircraft. they earn money and make us muslim fight against eachother......

What do you mean by Destiny?

Rafale will equip the French air force and then exports will follow. Like the Dassault Mirage Program, which by the time ended, was in hands of so many air forces around the world.

.
Well somehow i have started to prefer EF over this...As rightly pointed out by Prateek French snobbery is very hard to swallow ..Their upgrades cost more than a new aircraft and they drag their feet a little too much on price..

.
It is for the Dubai air show..and may be to assist Pakistan for second strike capability in case of real nasty war!

:taz:

I count on my hands for the fight I am stepping into. I don't consider Arabs would be so connected with Pakistan the moment that "nasty" thing happens. If Pakistan will have second strike capability, it will be because of resources it possesses.

They are crying to get export orders and UAE is a big hope for them to get started although INDIAN MRCA is another hope too but as far as i hve gone through various forums and information available on net even india will not got for Rafale.
Its a very expensive bird as compare to the features in offers

Absolutely friend - You're 100% right. Some people live in delusional world. I hope everyone think like you.Pakistan will fight with it's resources only. The world is very different. We can only expect diplomatic help during war - nothing else.

I doubt even that will be forth coming
given the current times has any Arab country even bothered with a lip service?

all countries and nations that are the success stories of this time did so on their own our biggest resource is our people.
by the way people shouldnt be shocked if they hear a news one day that UAE has decided to sell off the Mirage 2000s to India instead of Pakistan

.
they r the most lazy cretures on the face of earth,i highly doubt they can them self fly those rafaels:hang2::lazy::smokin:

.
Why is France not willing to sell?
Those French tried to play dirty with Pakistan and now they got some of it back.
I really wish French fail to sell single Rafael and that would be end of French fighter a/c industry.
They are doomed.

.
Indeed the only aircraft left for french aircraft industry is rafale and that too failed on the ground of marketing on few occasions and so far failed seems doomed. It does not make sense to offer U.A.E to jointly invest in so called "stealth" rafale and sell 60-70 units. Had french on their own invested and made a stealth version and promoted it without greed high price tag, perhaps if not couple of countries would have chosen the fateful rafale.

Like seriously?

Who are they going to war with? Iran? Iran can bomb them with ballistic missiles. So UAE needs ABM systems rather than aircraft

You are right this what i have been telling Nav that its best that they should get the missile if they want and integrate it with its platforms like Mirage-2000s & F-16 E/F Block-60. And wait for the J-XX , and replace the Mirage-2000-9s and later F-16E/Fs with them. :victory::yahoo:

Iran and United Arab Emirates dispute three small islands in the Persian Gulf. That motivated UAE to buy state-of-the art weapons to challenge any Iranian threat. The semiofficial Mehr News Agency in Iran reports that Emirati President Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan is expected to visit Tehran "in the near future" to discuss the Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa and Greater and Lesser Tunb. Their conflict is complicated by Saudi Arabia and USA hostility to Iran and their encouragement of UAE to to take extremist positions on this dispute. Hopefully they will reach a solution.

Hopefully we shall not seeing any battle between Muslim States in future and UAE should buy SLAM E/R to have better weapons to protect it from any hostility in the region(as we all know that there isn't any threat to UAE) but still if they want to buy they should go for Missiles rather than the whole new aircraft.

You are absolutely right and we should resolve our disputes by mutual negotiations and not by fighting like other non-Muslim ediots.:smitten::cheers:

The Arab nations are procuring weapons like idiots - the west stirs the pot and then sit back and enjoy the cash-flow from the arms sales.

They need to build up their OWN industry.........It's one of the things that makes me proud of Pakistan actually, at least we are trying despite the financial difficulties - A problem the Arab nations shouldn't have!

Yes this the thing which i have tried to initiate in my post's in past that why Saudi's didn't try to develop their own industries and R7D centers in order to Jointly produce weapons and military hardware even with the west like; they could have join the Typhoon Program and could build locally 400 Typhoons till 2022(although most of the partners are backing up but they could in this manner take the advantage) and even to produce jointly Basic, Intermediate & Advance Jet Trainers. And they could bring some local suppliers as well as produce on their own (instead of BAE systems).
They Could build a Centre for Electronic and Sensor R&D which will handle the manufacturing as well as maintainance and R&D for Air Force, Army & Navy including their weapons.
They can build Centre for Weapons R&D which will handle the manufacturing as well as maintainance and R&D for Air Force, Army & Navy including their weapons.
They should build facilities for manufacturing Tanks, APCs and other land vehicles for their own and may be for export.
They should start up-gradation of their shipyards where they could handle the manufacturing as well as maintainance and R&D for Surface as well as submerged combatants.

Iran have MRBM and IRBM Missiles, UAE Should Acquired some sort of good ABM..instead of Rafale , f 15 SE and terminator . Or may be they can co-develop a ballastic missile which can targate Iran's various millitary instalations.

Yup if they want something its good that they should buy THAAD from U.S or S-400 from Russia or wait for S-500 and try to start negotiations with them for future deal. And only in this way there might be possibility that they could have credibility in the region but in my serious opinion and advice they should go for 4-6 Saab-2000 AEW&C and integrate it with their aircrafts. And try to to do JV in MALE systems.:smitten::cheers:
