Rafales will be game changer only if we have it in good numbers.
No doubt it was the best of the lot that India tested including F 16IN, Mig 35 and others.
36 of those will not be sufficient for a 2 front war.
I think India might go with one American fighter in the near future, just for the sake of diversity and relationships with USA.
Su 30 MKI is still a very potent aircraft but only of upgraded.
They were cutting edge from early 2000s to mid 2010s but are being a bit outdated by aesa radars and modern BVR missiles.
A good upgrade package consisting of radar, EW and missile upgrades will surely make it top notch again.
