‘Rafale is as good as any 5th-generation aircraft’: French defence minister

Instead of cryin read the source he provided... as for license producing su-30 engine.. read the source i provide... even this year india imported 10+ engines from russia... as for designing a turbojet in 60s... yeah right... And keep quiet? lol.. go feed 450 million mouths first instead of ranting.... same goes for the few small parts you produce for su-30..

There is an article by NYTIMES

"After Decades of Neglect, Pakistan Rusts in Its Tracks" , google it.

Its an eyeopener. Propaganda is good only when it's believable. Try some reality for a change.

The nosecone of the rafale is too small to house a AESA radar with enough T-R modules to compete with 5th gen designs.

OMG !!

not that T/R module drama again

Ok i would explain u in better way learn!

1) 1st of all no doubt larger T/R module Aesa radar would have longer detection range but u must understand against a stealth target no matter how much powerful aesa radar a plane may have it cant detect a 5th gen fighter from more than 100-120km for sure.
Meanwhile RBE 2 aesa radar has a range of 170-200km against a fighter size target so nomatter how Much larger diameter radar u fit in rafale's nose can it cant detect a stealth plane from more than 100km range .

Meanwhile Rafale's FSO can detect an IR signature of a plane that may be even a stealth plane from 120km

2) 2ndly if i was fighter pilot fighting against rafale i would rather turn off my radar & rather rely on AWACS /or passive detection that may be from IR signature through IRST becoz Rafale's Spectra can detect my plane 's Electro magnetic radar signals from more than 200km iteslf & can locate it very accurately & can cue it's meteor missile without turning on it's own aesa
radar for stealth reason.:D
only F22's ALR 94 system is known to possess such capabilty tilll now;)

Actually your'e a little off here. Rafale does have a AESA radar with 1000 gallium arcsenide T/R modules. Su35 has a ESA, J20 & J10 have PESA as of now.

F35's AN/ASQ-239 (Barracuda) system can detect a mssile launch at 1200km , f22 can detect a plane at 500km. Pray that Russia allows some Israeli - Indian EW equipment on PAKFA. Beast!

hey man!!
who is denying that rafale doesnt have aesa radar:lol:
Ofcourse may be i am indeed off that' why My ghost posted this thread:omghaha:

BTW SU 35 & J20 would have AESA radar dont worry it's matter of time

SU35 never. J20 in Looong run. ESA tech is not easy. Till now they have only got a PESA on J10B prototype. Confirmed via pics from Beijing aviation museum. J20 AESA 5 yrs atleast , unless they receive another "source".

SU- 35 can be fitted with Pakfa aesa radar if required in future

Here the source

They might also retrofit the PAK-FA AESA onto the Su-35… It currently has a passive electronically scanned array installed.

J20 would be fitted with aesa radar ,hmm by hook or crook they would produce(Ctrlc + Ctrl V)or buy it from russia ( put an indigeniuos label ) in it & say it's indigenious .

SO thats why i said it is just a matter of time:coffee:

Anyhow AESA is long off for China now. PESA yes in 2 yrs operational AESA 2019 operational or so.

That's an ESA hybrid with greater power output. Russians can't even make a full 120 degree azimuth and elevation ardar with 2300 nodes like F22. The PAKFA with a elevation bar can do only 120 degree azimuth and 60 elevation. Gallium arsenide nodes are still new for them so development may not be ready till 2015-16.
