Racial harmony in Singapore: How Singaporean Chinese did it

.
The Dutch were already a major power, especially in trade. They had colonies and/or strong presence in many territories in Asia, Africa and the Americas. In fact the Dutch were one of the most powerful European empires often competing with the French, Portuguese, Spanish and English for territories and trade routes. If you read about the Dutch Golden Age and the Dutch East India Company, you will learn a lot about their history of trade and colonization.

Just from my experiences and knowledge, I have that question. Because China in the past and even nowadays are not good at navy. But China still could easily defeat Dutch in 1660‘s.

I know Spanish, they used a troop of 30 soldiers defeated the whole Inca Empire in South America. That is not explaining the Spanish strong, but the South America was too weak, almost primitive society at that time.

Yes there are Muslim law breakers, rebels and thugs, so as from all religions, atheists too, if not even more. Historically speaking most of the man-made catastrophies weren't even created by Muslim, say racial extermination of indigenous population, crusades, militarism, imperialism, colonialism, slavery, world wars, ideological conflicts, petroleum wars, brutal dictatorship, large-scale genocides, ponzi schemes, resources depletion, poverty, etc. In some cases of which Muslims were actually victims instead of victimizers.

Yes nowadays Muslim were simply being equated with trouble makers by the some "international media", but the reality is that they are being bullied, made refuge, or even killed on a daily basis in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen and other places. Why? I don't know, let's give it some thoughts before simply buying into this "international" propaganda.

Back to the topic, I highly appreciate Singapore's achievement in racial harmony. Racism exists everywhere, somehow Singapore has managed it well at least within law and order. Credit? I don't have any say as an outsider, just hope China and other multi-ethnic countries can share some good experiences. Keep up the good work Singapore!

While I agree with your post about the Muslims in general, Singapore is a different beast. Their policies in recent years have turned the country into a cesspool of useless people from third world countries who just want to leech. The practice of reverse discrimination against the local Singaporeans have made them angry with newcomers.

I think we need the Kra Canal to be done as soon as possible.

The Singaporeans better not forever staying as a bunch of freeloaders who absolutely depend their economy on the geographical bliss such as the Strait of Malacca.

You are crazy to think that 5.5 million of us live like emperor better than your whole family simply due to Straits of Malacca.

Stop showing your moron.

Even if Kra Canal is built, I doubt it can accommodate the massive ship numbers traversing the Malaccas Straits.

It can help divert flow , but as a bypass? I think not.

Yes, I am not good at English. Didn't HAD an English teacher.

Back to topic, why Muslim is a problem everywhere?

Why dont you sit this discussion out and have a place in space.

None of my friends works in shipping and that is just a small number of Singaporeans.

I am not too sure how good your mind is but I am a engineer.

Kra is 10x more difficult to build than Panama.

Even with Kra, it wont affect 99% of Singaporeans including me. Me myself are building high tech stuff that got nothing to do with transport.

Kra is difficult engineering problem. I may write about it later in PDF.

Singapore is a role model for racial harmony. It has a system where each individual is measured by his/her ability to contribute to the country regardless of race, colour and religion. However I hope they don't fall into the same trap as giving a free-run for the minorities in the name of tolerance which in turn will strengthen the racist elements within the majority. We We have to give credit to LKY on this, balancing this is no easy task.
