Racial harmony in Singapore: How Singaporean Chinese did it

I think Singapore have made a great job. Muslim is a worldwide problem, not that easy to deal with them.

As far as I know, when the Muslim is majority in one country, they discriminate, even massacre others; when the Muslim is minority in one country, they always break laws, resist the govt, even break out rebellion. Hundreds of cases prove it hundred percent sure.

You have to give some credit to Singaporean Chinese. While I grow up, I never hear any of my Chinese friends complain the got shit because discrimination from the banana peranakan or angloIndian elites.

Every Chinese blame themselves and work harder.

Meanwhile the some Malay and Indians keep blaming Chinese for their shit although the true Chinese are never in power.

Also oversea Indians like Carribean and Fiji due to their tribalism and caste system against native got themselves into quasi civil war.

Oversea Malay in Southern thailand now waging insurgencies killing a lot of teachers making themselves as stupid as possible.

Ofcause yes.. The Chinese philosophy of hard work was instrumental for Singapore to be where it is now.. And that despite the the populations of Indians and Malays.. Even within current Singapore the difference is stark,, Anybody who have been to little India can vouch for this

Singapore = Egalitarianism. Malay protest against churches, goes free.

Home Ministry says IGP right not to classify 'cross' protest as seditious
KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry has defended the Inspector-General of Police’s decision not to classify the Taman Medan "cross" protest as an offence under the Sedition Act.

In a written reply to Gobind Singh Deo (DAP - Puchong), the ministry told the Dewan Rakyat that Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had made the statement based on the police report lodged against the protestors.

“The police report that was lodged against the protestors was initially classified as a trespassing offence, and not an offence under the Sedition Act.

“It is the police’s responsibility to classify any report lodged for the purpose of investigation,” said the reply.

It added that the police were in the midst of completing the probe and gathering evidence before the investigation papers are submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for the next course of action.

Gobind, in his question, had asked the ministry whether it would take action against the IGP for declaring that the protest was not an offence under the Sedition Act.

On Apr 19, about 40 residents staged a protest against a new church situated in a shoplot in Taman Medan after the congregation there put up a cross on the church’s building.

The group, which gathered while church service was going on, contended that the sight of the cross in a majority Muslim area challenged Islam and could influence younger minds.

Please be mindful. Malay are Jawanese Indonesians, landed in present day Malaysia as pirates. Neither Chinese nor Indians invaded Malaya. They were brought in to work in tin mines and rubber plantations by the British who ruled Malaya back then. If you want to blame, blame Malay kings for colluding with British and allowing them to rule and exploit Malaya.

No, the race of Malay is had different roots from the Javanese

most Malay which is the one using Malay language is originated from Sumatran Islands who live in coastal cities like Palembang, Jambi, Riau (Pekanbaru) and spread as far as lampung and Medan in North Sumatra. The Malays in the past using the same sanskrit script to write their language like the Javanese as is they are the ones who introduce Javanese Kingdom about concept of Hinduism and Buddhist originated from Hindustan. When we are trying to looking the face of the Javanese, they had different shape of face, skins tone than Malays, if you are learning more about race and ethnic in here you can tell by slightest look which one is people who came from Java, Malay region in Sumatra or Kalimantan. The modern Malay is not much comprised from Javanese stock, but they came from Bugis (Sulawesi Island) and Banjar (Kalimantan/Borneo) stock who mixed with local Malayan people in peninsula. And they are indeed pirates, warrior and soldiers who had been exiled by force when their kingdoms and lands been destroyed by Netherland or England action in the age of sail.

The modern Javanese you can found in Malaysia is usually came from Indonesia to Malaysia as job hunter, seeking better fortune and opportunity than at home.

yes it is, not every Bugis people is pirates or privateer. Most working as mercenaries soldier for their newly found master, they are ferocious fighter and the tradition still live on to this day. Many Bugis people admitted themselves into Army and Navy and compete with Ambonese, Javanese and Batak people (the big four ethnic who usually comprised of modern Indonesian Armed Forces).

I always have one question. Why the Indonesia became a Dutch colony even before the industrial revolution in 18th century?
1. Before industrial revolution, Dutch didn't have any advanced weapons to invade your country.
2. Holland was not a strong European country, and is hundreds of thousand miles away.

I am not familiar with the history, can you give me some informations?

These folks are far away from India and Mecca as well.

Yeah give credit to Chinese for this and that, since every thing they do is gold even when they poop it comes out in the form of gold flakes, according to you.

one, in the past Dutch have a strong naval fleets, and they came to Nusantara islands during Dutch golden age, an era when Netherland sailing warships (ships of the line) even able to blockade London and burning half side of Thames river and at the same time halting the advance of French Navy. Once upon a time, Dutch Navy (the time when they had zeven provincien at their homes including Belgium lands) had superiority over British and French naval fleet combined.

second, they came and invaded local kingdoms in same much fashion when British invading and took India land, one by one. Using divide et impera tactics, using modern strategies and cunning tactics.

The Dutch were already a major power, especially in trade. They had colonies and/or strong presence in many territories in Asia, Africa and the Americas. In fact the Dutch were one of the most powerful European empires often competing with the French, Portuguese, Spanish and English for territories and trade routes. If you read about the Dutch Golden Age and the Dutch East India Company, you will learn a lot about their history of trade and colonization.

"If one of the parents is Muslim Malay/Orang Asli[5] as stated in Article 160 (2) Federal Constitution of Malaysia; thus the child is considered as a Bumiputra"
No muslim clause with Sabah and Sarawak. Orang Asli have very strong incentive to convert to muslim. Usually the government offers them money.. erhemmm "aid" to urge them to convert. I can confirm this.

Thai should be in my opinion, southern Thai and Malay have same features.

the term "bumiputra"; it defines only "Malay" and "indigenous peoples" (Article 160(2)),[2] "natives" of Sarawak (161A(6)(a)),[3] and "natives" of Sabah (Article 161A(6) (b)).[3] Definitions of bumiputra in public use vary among different institutions, organisations, and government departments and agencies.

For being recognized as Malay being a muslim is a must but for being a bumi, its not.

Yes there are Muslim law breakers, rebels and thugs, so as from all religions, atheists too, if not even more. Historically speaking most of the man-made catastrophies weren't even created by Muslim, say racial extermination of indigenous population, crusades, militarism, imperialism, colonialism, slavery, world wars, ideological conflicts, petroleum wars, brutal dictatorship, large-scale genocides, ponzi schemes, resources depletion, poverty, etc. In some cases of which Muslims were actually victims instead of victimizers.

Yes nowadays Muslim were simply being equated with trouble makers by the some "international media", but the reality is that they are being bullied, made refuge, or even killed on a daily basis in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen and other places. Why? I don't know, let's give it some thoughts before simply buying into this "international" propaganda. I came across Samuel Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations", apparently the clash as predicted by the author in his "novel" is very real.

Back to the topic, I highly appreciate Singapore's achievement in racial harmony. Racism exists everywhere, somehow Singapore has managed it well at least within law and order. Credit? I don't have any say as an outsider, just hope China and other multi-ethnic countries can share some good experiences. Keep up the good work Singapore!

You must be Muslim. And I would add another habit of Muslim: never carefully listen to others' advise.
