The difference is that a civilian govt is accountable to the public and pressure groups like media and judiciary make these nincompops work, while a military and authoritarian govt cannot be pressurised and works in its own manner.sigatoka said:Democracy should be judged on the results it gives. The socialistic economy days are over, the move towards privatisation had made major changes.Democracy as is practiced in India allows for significant economic distortions which is evident in some of the regressive Indian economic policies.
