China announced another cut in electricity prices for commercial and industrial users, the second in a month, as the government fulfills pledges made by Premier Li Keqiang in March to lower the cost burden for businesses.

The latest reduction, announced on Wednesday by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), took effect on May 1 and amounted to 0.0216 yuan (0.33 U.S. cents) per kilowatt-hour, or around 2.7%, the commission said on its website (link in Chinese).

That's one hell of a good governance delivering real results for real people. Supporting SMEs are very important as they shoulder a bulk of employment and also generate innovation, promising to be the next Tencent or DJI.

.
With renewable resources like wind farm and solar plus dam increasing, electricity is getting cheaper. Its no surprising.

.
u guys have too much surplus power or something?

The increasing electricity capacity is to anticipate for the surge of electric car and buses in future as fossil fuel car will be dump in near future.

If China were to achieve a complete technological breakthrough in full nuclear fusion power production, China's energy will be limitless and electricity prices will be reduced to a few pennies per kilowatt-hour for manufacturers involved in the Made in China 2025 plan. The implications would be enormous.

Yep, a full fleet of electric cars and trucks for most Chinese drivers in the future. Need alot of electricity capacity to accommodate all the new charging stations required.

I dont forsee electric truck soon due to the enormous energy needed to haul goods. Tackling sedan cars and replacing them with electric will be a triumph. Electric buses is easier to replace due to the fact, their travelling path and journey is highly predictable.
