Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan claimed on Sunday that his country had entered the final stage of the production of a home-made fighter jet known as the Qaher 313 fighter jet, adding that the plane is ready for different tests, the semiofficial Fars news agency reported.

In 2013, Iran’s then-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad first unveiled the Qaher 313, claiming at the time it is able to evade radar systems.

Ahmadinejad boasted that the warplane was designed and built domestically and "is among the most advanced fighter jets in the world.”

Israeli experts, however, at the time cast doubt on the authenticity of the fighter jet.

Iran continuously boasts of its military, space and nuclear advances, and it is unknown which of the claims are true and which are exaggerated.

Dehqan’s claims about the Qaher 313 came a day after Iranian state television reported that the advanced S-300 air defense system, which the Islamic Republic bought from Russia, is now operational.

Iran also claims it has developed a home-made version of the S-300, which it calls Bavar 373. Dehqan claimed on Sunday that the final operational tests of Bavar 373 will be carried out late in May.

"The full battlefield operation tests on Bavar 373 system have been planned for May 23," Dehqan told Fars.

that fighter looks really good at least from outside, although I doubt Iran's capability to create any engines and specially avionics needed for such planes

What happened to this fighter

Iran says it will carry out flight tests this year. Two years ago, they conducted a taxi test on the runway. keep in mind that it just been 5 years and the plane is still prototype No.8 and not the final design. for advance countries it will take up to 15 years to complete an advance fighter jet.

From pictures it look very "American" like design. At least the exterior is of very good standards. Only two possible outcomes of this project, it is either going to be a super hit, if all avionics and engine etc sorted out. Or it is going to be a complete disaster.
Who helped Iran!! Any technological transfer by any country!! Who is providing Avionics and Engine!! Iran produced its own avionics and engine!! Were are the details!!

Well a nation who managed to keep its fighter jets airborne in past 4 decades despite the sanctions and war by starting reverse engineering of them and has various types of western and eastern birds in its inventory to study on and has shown & sought a logical path in reaching this goal could produce such a jet .. Iran has demonstrated avionics, engine, jet seat , BVR missiles , radars, landing gear and fuselage & has integrated all of them previously and shown on Kowsar ...

And remember these were supposed to be RC toys ...

Well a country that is sanctioned and even can not import civil aircraft has no other option but to rely on will of its youths which so far has worked in a tremendous way .. for example it's how we started our missile program:

And now we've reached 5 meters cep :

ppl could laugh now we will laugh later ..
