Rus is, as you called it, Nordic. Those Varegs came from Scandinavia, and made Slavs slaves. Then expanded their territory eastwards, colonizing Siberia. It was in 1580's, you Rus' arrived in Siberia in small numbers after defeating Sibir Khanate and taking their capital Tumen.

Arriving in Kazakhstan happened only in 19th century.
