Putin, Erdogan agree on steps to mend relations

Totally agree this is the main reason many EU countries are failing and many immigrants and refugees taking advantage of the system making these countries poorer.

One of the main reason Turkey succeeds is because in Turkey people know they need to work and study hard or they will end up in the street without food. If you give people the option to get free money many will choose not to work and choose the lazy option and on top of that many will immigrate to Turkey from ME, east europe and Asia to get free money too. (which is the case in EU right now)

Turkeys immigration text should clearly say:
No Money, No Honey :yay:

That's it. Thank you. :)

...sure...unfortunate matter though, that such an exchenge you wish could happen on the territory of ... turkey (just to remind history - in all war plans between US and USSR - battlearea was territory of europe, kinda "nice" ,isn't it, both sides know that it's so suisidal to start a direct war trying to bomb each other territory directly, but limited war in europe/tyrky an such proxies could burn in limited nuke fire ... )... so keap dreaming about "regional superpower" (LOL, me reckon why not "the interstelar superpower), though reality is very different...

Russia wouldn't nuke Turkey at the rate we are going soon half of Turkey will have russian blood. I think some 100,000+ turkish men married to russian women lately, I don't blame them your girls are tall and nice while our girls get fat and short as soon as they turn 30 :omghaha:

Russia is number 1:

Nuke was a joke, wouldn't wish nukes on anyone 99% that die are civilians and children and so on that had no say on the matter, I actually like Russia now that we are becoming friends, I think Russia is a better friend to Turkey than USA and EU. You seem more honest and don't play games with us like the west does.

I think it's same with all muslim countries, or maybe it's culture not sure.

I mean the fact that girls/women in our countries will never have problems finding a husband.

Western and russian girls/women know that they need to take care of themselves or they won't find a good guy so even when they are 50+ their women take care of how they look, using lotions and so on.

That is why a 50 year old western woman can sometimes look as if she is 35 years old, while 50 year old woman in our countries will look like she is 60 :)

The typical woman in our countries will take care of herself so she is beautiful until she gets married, she will take care of herself a bit more until she gets children. But after children the women get fat and don't care. There is no reason to look good.

Also exercise, our women don't do any exercise, they sit at home with their women friends and eat cakes and gossip or watch tv.

But we have some good sides too, our women usually cook great food and are less likely to cheat and are really good at being a mom and not being selfish.

So we need to choose, beautiful girls or good food. :cheesy:

I have an idea, one wife from Russia for her looks and one wife from Turkey to stay in the kitchen and cook food and raise the kids.

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday after talks with Russia's President Vladimir Putin that the two nations can rebuild their damaged ties and make them even closer, promising to back major energy projects with Russia.

Calling Putin his "dear friend," Erdogan said Turkey is ready to implement a natural gas pipeline project with Russia and a deal to build Turkey's first nuclear power plant.

Putin, in his turn, said that the flow of Russian tourists to Turkey, halted after the downing of a Russian jet by Turkey in November, will resume. He also promised to gradually lift restrictions on imports of Turkish agricultural products.

Putin added that he and Erdogan would have a separate discussion on Syria later Tuesday involving top military and intelligence officials to search for common ground in the crisis, where Moscow and Ankara have backed the opposing sides.

While Moscow has backed Syrian President Bashar Assad throughout the nation's civil war and further bolstered that support by launching an air campaign last September, Turkey has backed Assad's foes.

Previously close ties between Moscow and Ankara broke down after a Turkish jet shot down a Russian warplane at the Syrian border. They remained at a freezing point for seven months until Erdogan met the key Russian condition for restoring ties by offering his apology over the incident.

Putin then ordered his government to start rebuilding ties with Turkey, and when Erdogan faced a botched coup attempt on July 15 the Russian leader quickly offered his support.

Erdogan particularly mentioned Putin's call, which he said "gladdened me, my colleagues and our people."

Analysts say that Erdogan may also be hoping to play the Russian card to strengthen his hand in disputes with the United States and European Union.

Turkey is pressing the United States hard to extradite Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom the government blames for the failed coup. Gulen denies the claims.

Friendly advise: don't look at Turkey through the glasses of western mainstream media, which is ridiculously full with lies and biased news regarding Turkey. For English news on Turkey, i advise the following Turkish sources for a balanced and more honest news; dailysabah (pro-govt) and hurriyetdailynews (anti-govt)

I agree western media is BS lately.

I was shocked to see this on CNN today:

"I think the West understands Turkey's near-total dependency on the West for its economic survival, security and its foreign policy," he said.

"The more muscular Europe's approach to Turkey, the more likely it is that the agreement will have a longer shelf life.

"Erdogan can threaten to huff and puff and threaten to blow the house down but at the end of the day it is a house made of bricks."

It sounds like some teenager said these words, not professional or diplomatic at all.

The person saying these things is:
"Fadi Hakura, Turkey specialist at the Chatham House think tank in London"

What is this arabic name?

Yes seems he speaks arabic, english and french:

More research shows that he has many articles all talking bad about Turkey.

Wonder who he is working for and what the agenda is.

Too bad a respected site such as cnn.com will quote a Turkey hater, we should shut down cnnturk.com if they keep this up.
