Purchasing Wakhan District

Once Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan, i reckon it would be the perfect moment to purchase the Wakhan district and amalgamate it with KPK which will give Pakistan a direct access to Tajikistan.

Area size = 11,258 km2 ( For reference AJK is around 13,297 km2 )
Population = under 20k

By hook or by crook it is in Pakistani interest to take that piece of land and secure it for trade. Billions if not trillions to be made once its up.

Already more than 90% of Afghanistan is under Taliban's control. It will be 100% in another month once US leaves completely.

This merger should have happened back in the 1990s.

At least this time we should not make the same mistake.

I agree that we need a plan to handle those back stabbing Uzbeks and Tajiks.

The best solution is to make them leave to their countries of origin in Central Asia.

A little pressure from Pakistan and Taliban will expedite the process.

They had the area since 1893, what have they done with it? and how many golden eggs have they got so far and what are the chances of them getting any in the near future?

I said in 2005 while Afghanistan was in turmoil and being bombed by the West that Pakistan should just take it over. A huge strategic mistake by Pakistan and China that they didn't. I said at that time that it was a colonial wedge to block Pakistan from Central Asia and so right was I.
