  • The following extracts from textbooks currently in circulation in various provinces provide a few specific examples of the inflammatory content taught in public schools:

    • Grade IV (Social Studies, Khyber Pakhtunkwa): “Muslims treated Hindus in [a] very good manner despite that Hindus used to main[tain] deep animosity against Muslims.”
    • Grade V (Social Studies, Punjab): “The religious beliefs of the Muslims and Hindus are absolutely different. The Hindus worship many Idols. They have many Gods and Goddesses. The Muslims believe in one Allah who is Almighty and who is Creator of the universe. The Muslims worship Allah. In the Hindu religion the men are divided into different classes by their system of caste and creed, whereas in Islam all the Muslims are equal and are brotherly with one another. In Hindu religion the women are given a low status. Whereas Islam teaches to give due respect to the women.”
    • Grade V (Islamic Studies, Sindh): “Hindus have tried all their means to harm Muslims of Indian Subcontinent and killed millions of Muslims. They were deprived of their assets and properties.
    • Grade VI (Social Studies, Punjab): “Before the Arab conquest the people were fed up with the teachings of Buddhists and Hindus...The foundation of [the] Hindu set up was based on injustice and cruelty. The system of Islam, which was based on justice, equality and brotherhood as described earlier, impressed a lot to the Hindu culture and set up.”
    • Grade VI (Social Studies, Sindh): “The social equality and justice to all freed the cast ridden Hindu society and paved the way for spread of Islam, we know that the low caste Hindus suffered due to the low caste system, The Hindus belonging to lower casts were tortured, insulted and disgraced.[sic]”
    • Grade IX - X (Pakistan Studies, Khyber Pakhtunkwa): “Hindu leadership has not only shown their religious hatred but also expressed their political hatred by opposing to celebrate their independence day on the same day. They proposed 15th August 1947, as their independence day because they never wanted to celebrate with Pakistan on the same day and this shows their psyche of narrowmindedness.”
    • Grade IX - X (Pakistan Studies, Khyber Pakhtunkwa): “Hindus were against the creation of Pakistan. Despite their utmost opposition, when Pakistan was created, they used all means to weaken and harm Pakistan. Hindus in the ‘East Pakistan’ (now Bangladesh) started mobilizing their fellow citizens against the ‘West Pakistan.’ ”

Just as a real life example, @Indus Falcon 's maternal grandfathers whole village was massacred by hindus.

I studied in a school where my grandfather was denied entry for being Muslim. Only Hindus could get admission in that school. And we are talking of area where Muslims were an overwhelming majority. Hindus were wealthier and influential however. I can tell you stories of discrimination and degradation that Muslims had to endure. Pseudo liberals of today have no idea why Pakistan was essential. They think things were like this always.

Website of HINDU American Federation? Very neutral source.

Textbooks are written in Urdu mostly. I would like to see those Textbooks directly please. I will search them up and tell you why and what of context behind. Oppression of Muslims at the hands of Hindu populace is no secret. Your grandfathers were in agreement with us on that.

. .
we dont have anti pakistani curriculum or anti-muslim curriculum... every time right wing people want to change it, there is huge uproar. the history I read was neutral. Infact pakistan is rarely mentioned in history. even british were not painted as evil except what is already known about raj.
but yes, some teachers went far beyond curriculum, and put their own interpretations. One teacher was quite racist to tribals and lower castes in my school..
A point here:
It wasnt the text books that told me of seeration Of Bangladesh. Heck i didnt even knew of its existance. There was no mention of it in Books back then. My Grandfather was taking us to graveyard which is on the east side of village. After sometime he fell silent. When he spoke his exact words were "There used to be another Pakistan, East Pakistan, Now it is Bangladesh". His voice was heavy and sad which scared us. Point is That This Sad Event wasnt even in the Books and I learned about it from School when In O Levels. There was No mention of India even there lol. Only 2 lines were given to 1971 war. So which part of above preaches hate towards Hindus?

so what? why should we hide the truth? history knows what happened during the 1937 congress govt? what happened during the partition? what happened during the khilafat movement. it is important to tell the students that how hard it was to get this piece of land and how many people sacrificed their lives and properties for their and our future.
do you want to us to teach the kids that all was fine in the subcontinent. hindus and muslims were like brothers but then suddenly muslims had a brain wave. they put up a written application to the hindus and british. it was accepted and muslims got separate country without any injustice during the boundary demarcation.

.and after partition hamari kabhi be india say ke jung nae hoe. india nay kabhi ba anti pak elements ko support nae kia or na he unka bangladesh bananay main koe role tha. raw ka koe agent pak main nae pakra gia. 98 main india nay atomi bum nae sootar bum chalaya tha

The past thousand years of subcontinent's history is filled with extremes of each good and bad. There is no point in saying that Muslims were always good or Hindus were always good. Just like you cannot say Muslims were always bad or hindus were always bad. You can pick a certain occasion in history and interpret it to show any of the above statements that Muslims were bad, or hindus were bad or similarly for their being good. Our history is full of different extremes everywhere. Any incident can be picked somewhere and a locally true conclusion drawn from it but that conclusion really cannot be generalized to portray universal behavior of any religion or people in other times.

What is important is what we want to teach our children irrespective of history obviously without fabricating history? I want to tell my children that a lot of Indians are extremely good humans but I do not want to hide from them the reality that still many other of them would be willing to go to any limit to hurt us or hurt our Pakistan. I think we have to teach them enough of recent history because recent history really extends itself into our present and affects our future. And recent history does mean that we have to tell them why Pakistan was made. We do have to tell them why our(hindus and muslims) leaders failed to make an agreement to live together before partition of India. We have to teach them about conflicts with India. We have to make them aware of threats from India and also tell them about benefits of friendship with India. However we also have to make sure that we do not confuse hindus with Indians and we also have to make certain that Pakistani hindus have no objection to anything being taught in the Pakistani classroom. Similarly being a Pakistani Christian should not be much different from being a Pakistani Muslim.

@SecularNationalist, if you ever read history, British wanted to leave one united india. It was ordinary Muslims who wanted a different country for Pakistan. Though not all, most of the rich waderas and Nawabs(whose families still rule Pakistan and they had close relations with British administration) were in Unionist party who wanted a United India and strongly opposed formation of Pakistan. However the common and ordinary Muslim were the ones who wanted a separate country Pakistan under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the great leader.

yes, Islam is the only right path. it is mentioned in quran. Allah said in Quran that "i have chosen islam as your religion" that's it. it's the final seal after all the divine religions.no other religion will be accepted in the court of Allah in the next world after the advent of islam. but nowhere in islam it is written to mistreat others who want to live peacefully. but yes, if they do mischief then reply in the same coin. the major threat to islam are the liberals and extremists who are twisting all the teachings in order to support their own fuc**ing agenda. what's happening today is not something new. it happened when the english agent started a new sect in arabia in order to weaken the ottoman empire. it happened in sub continent. the true followers have always been lesser in number and they always will be. the majority of the humans always flow with the tide .
the need of today is the true knowledge of islam should be given to next generation and groom them into tolerant true practical muslims who stick to the basic principles of islam and not into some liberals who are westerners using an islamic cover or the extremists who are barbarians using islam cover.
i dont want any comment by any indian as i have not talked about your religion.
Bhagavad-Git and vedas are the only true words from God because it was said in them by God . Why should I believe what is said in Quran is true when you don't believe what I said is true..for me Quran is a book written by someone to manipulate people around him (just like how you feel Bhagavad-Gita and Vedas are man written books)

when you add your own judgement to accepted historical facts, it no longer remains history. Its historically accurate that hindu upper caste oppressed muslims but that does not mean you write 'hindu baniyas not to be trusted' in your social studies book.
Just present the facts without judgement, I dont think anybody wants you to lie to your kids just so that hindus will look good.
