ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Senior PML-N leader and former senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah on Monday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) attendance in the Parliament after its members resigned earlier.

The PML-N leader stated in his petition that PTI members resigned 7 months earlier and their status in the Parliament is no more than a stranger.

The petition also includes Federation, Speaker National Assembly, Leader of the Opposition, Election Commission of Pakistan, PTI chief Imran Khan and all PTI members of the National Assembly as party.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but their resignations were never accepted. It is up to the leisure of the speaker, and the speaker never confirmed resignations, thus PTI members were still a part of the Parliament. There is no legal standing here, PTI MNAs were all intent and purposes, still standing members.

The resignations were never accepted because both sides were adamant on the technicalities: Govt. wanted members to resign after going to the Speaker one by one while PTI wanted mass resignations; basically, PTI distrusted its own MNAs, many of whom would change their minds if going solo to the Speaker.
Unless there is some Constitutional clause which REQUIRE standing MNA to attend Assembly sessions at least x time in x months, I think PTI MNAs are legally ok and that is fine with just about all parties except for JUI-F and MQM: One wants to gain against PTI in K-P while the other in Karachi.

True, in all sorts of pressure on them they forget to use this golden opportunity and this will hurt them dearly in the By-election.

LOL, typical Nawaz mindset game, first invade other's privacy, leak your opponent's calls, let other party take revenge on PTI for making the judicial commission during the assembly session and then use his other hand to file a case on them in court for coming back into the assemblies... PTI will strike back at an apt time for this

just want to ask how come using 35 punctures call as a reference in almost every third or fourth statement is legit but when his own conversation gets tapped than the very same phenomena becomes illegal? this somehow defies physics,chemistry,biology and calculus combined?

PTI a great party with great vision being led into shambles courtesy of an egoistic and stubborn leader with big mouth ...

No you didn't, so apologies from my end. Thing is some people here put every bad omen that happens on PTI these recent days so i said it from that angle.

That is true, IK never condemned the leakage of the 35 punctures call but it's contents were serious enough to not condemn it..unless a very wrong means is used to get a thing like this.. through a leaked call it was proved that najam sethi, an interim chief minister of Punjab helped heavily in rigging the general elections in Punjab.. if you ask me personally.. both are wrong things done but the thing that Najam sethi helped conduct was much much bad than getting his call leaked through somewhere.

No IK didn't reject the tape what he said was that he didn't concentrate on listening to the tape and what was said in but atleast it wasn't anything like commanding his PTI workers to attack PTV or any other bad action..but a PTI leader, Arif Alvi did say that although the voices are genuine, the conversation between them was not complete and they both later talked about condemning the attack on PTV also..he questioned the validity of the tape..

As soon as a viable proof is put showing a clean person like IK following the establishment's lines, i'll accept this as a fact..People love to assume everything these days..
