KARACHI/Hyderabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf announced on Sunday that it would stage a protest demonstration on Sharea Faisal on Monday against the Sindh government for not extending special policing powers to the Rangers.

Speaking at a press conference, PTI leader Imran Ismail said that extending powers to the Rangers was necessary for the peace in Karachi and if the Sindh government failed to extend the powers his party would lodge a series of protests not only in the assembly but across the province.

He said that it was because of the Rangers that the peace had finally returned to the city, but the Pakistan Peoples Party government was making an issue of the Rangers power since their action against corruption had directly affected the PPP leadership.

The Sindh government was evading the extension of powers to the Rangers to hide its corruption and incompetency and trying to make the operation controversial, he added.

He announced that the PTI would organise a first protest demonstration at Star Gate on Sharea Faisal.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Faisal Vawda said that if the powers of Rangers were not extended the PTI would spread its protest across Sindh.

ST protests against Sindh govt

Activists of Sunni Tehrik staged a protest demonstration at Hyder Chowk on Sunday against the delay in extension of special policing powers to the Rangers by the Sindh government.

The demonstration was led by ST’s district coordinator Mohammad Imran Suharwardi. Protesters raised slogans against the Sindh government and in support of the army and Rangers.

Mr Suharwardi said that the powers of Rangers were being clipped at a time when Rabiul Awal has started and it was a conspiracy against Ahl-e-Sunnat.

He said that the Sindh government was trying to cover up its own corruption and sabotaging the National Action Plan by curtailing powers of the Rangers.

Criticising the Sindh chief minister’s remarks that corruption was started in Pakistan when Liaquat Ali Khan was prime minister, the ST asked him to apologise for this statement.

PARACHINAR: At least 25 people were killed and 62 injured on Sunday when a device containing about 35 kilograms of explosives ripped through a makeshift market in Parachinar town of Kurram tribal region, residents and hospital sources said.

Officials said that the device kept in a sack exploded when a large number of people were buying second-hand clothes.

A huge pall of black smoke and dust enveloped the entire area after the blast. According to witnesses, pieces of human flesh lay scattered everywhere.

Israr Hussain, head of the bomb disposal squad, told reporters that 35 to 40 kilograms of explosives had been used in the device.

In a rather unusual development, two militant groups claimed responsibility for the attack, with one of them saying the target was the Shia community.

The groups identified themselves as Lashkar-i-Jhangvi Al Alami and Ansarul Mujahideen based in South Waziristan Agency.

A statement released to a foreign media channel and attributed to the spokesman for the Jhangvi group, Ali bin Sufian, said the attack had been carried out against the Shia elements who were supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Iranian government. “We warn ... parents that if they don’t stop their children from ongoing (sic) conflict in Syria they should remain prepared for more such attacks,” Sufian said.

25 killed, 62 wounded in market blast; man, three sons among the dead
Officials confirmed 19 deaths, but they said they feared the death toll could rise because many of the wounded were in critical condition. One of the officials said that 62 wounded had been brought to the agency headquarters hospital in the town.

In a statement issued in Peshawar, the ISPR said that 23 seriously wounded people had been airlifted by two helicopters.

Rescue 1122 said that 17 of the injured had been shifted to CMH Peshawar.

A family from Zeran Village near Parachinar lost four members — the father and three sons. They were in the market when the blast occurred.

Several people died on the spot and many others were declared dead on their arrival at the hospital.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the explosion which also damaged a number of vehicles.

Parachinar with a population of more than 50,000 has been under strict security arrangements for quite some time. Personnel of army and paramilitary Levies have set up checkpoints on all routes leading to the town and visitors and vehicles go through extensive search and identification process.

Despite that terrorists managed to carry a heavy explosive device to the market.

Elders declared three days of mourning for those who lost their lives. Political Agent Amjad Ali Khan announced a compensation of Rs300,000 for the heirs of each dead and Rs100,000 for each wounded.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan, Awami National Party president Asfandyar Wali Khan and Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar condemned the act of terrorism and expressed solidarity with the affected families.

Sardar Mahtab directed the political administration of Kurram and the officials concerned in Peshawar to provide adequate treatment to the injured. He also asked the political administration to investigate the incident and take more effective steps to avert such incidents in future.

IDIOT, Parachinar is part of Kurram agency not KP and even if there is a similar incident in KP what has that to do with Karachi, and why should KP police be held responsible for attacks happening from across border.

What borders with Karachi??Lasbela????? The injured were transfered to Peshawar SO, whats so astonishing about it??? It doesnt mean KP is responsible for the ill things in FATA. Infact its a burden for KP, someone else's job who didnt make a hospital in FATA.

LOL , how old are you? you cant even produce a decent comparison to put your narrative. PTI is not trying to govern Sindh. They are having a demonstration as they have some existence there. And Karachi belongs as much to a PTI supporter as it does to an MQMer. Same is for Peshawar or any other city in Pakistan..Having a demonstration deosnt mean an attempt to govern idiot.

They are cashing the popular stance , doing politics and trying to make inroads in Karachi while you are sitting here farting your fears.

Both PTI &JI are protecting the radical Islamic terrorists to save their government in KPK?
Initiating jail breaks ?
& thus trying hard to deflect this weakness by
highlighting the Karachi issue to hide their , bad governance in KPK & also fearing a military led operation against the supporters in their key ministries of kpk ?

Before locking horns with me , ask some one how brutal I can be ?lolzz

Wait all what you typed has a question mark. Are these questions you are asking me ? or your comments?

Do you have any credible information to conclude a jailbreak that happened in the initial days of this govt. was masterminded by PTI/JI? The IG KP of that time Ihsan Ghani who is a PPP guy didnt say a word against the KP govt at that time on jailbreak not even upon being removed.

Since you didnt follow the events happening around that time let me remind you the Afghan president had Pakistans security agency release lots of these Afghan Taliibs from Rawalpindi so they would indulge in a dialogue with them.So i personally see this as an inside job of our security agencies.

And you dont need to worry zarb-e-aab it will go all over Pakistan including KP..Filhaal apni khair manao.

Kpk govt is responsible of the jail breakings ,which is the mix of mainly , JI & PTI clowns ?
For the proctection of TTP terrorists we know how far PTI & JI can go ?right
Calling our security agencies not shaheed ?
Or giving offices to TTp ?
Sooner or later ,these TTP terrorist will come to hunt KPK govt , cause PAKARMY will come to clean Peshawar very soon ?lolzz

Worst example of Cheer leading in the history of Pakistan. PTI needs to stay away from all that especially after Karachi LB Elections as this would make their case even worse of being Establishment's party in Karachi further antagonizing role of establishment which they have already done before and after Election hues and cries and other Social media idioticities.

. At least not a tool for British establishment. I see when MQm used to have rallies in favor of operation in fata back in 2012 they were being pro establishment, a party that was a product of zia ul Haq and had a honey moon session with pervez Musharraf.. Mqmers, Hypocrites of highest order with IQ of lowest order.

MQM had serious Threats from them hence their stand against Taliban wasnt in line with Cheer Leading rather it was their Policy from very first day when all Parties were in agreement of negotiation with them. It was more of a Enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of stuff MQM was pulling but here PTI is more like cheer leading as neither they have much stake left in Karachi nor they have any purpose other then Hope that Rangers would get rid of MQM and give them Karachi in Silver Platter without making any efforts.

Cheer Leading? Are you serious? If i was there in Karachi, i would also be part of the rally. It is essential for the peace and prosperity of Karachi that Rangers be given the extra powers required to keep law and order. Sindh Police has proven itself to be a failure, and its only the Rangers that has the capacity to go after criminals in Karachi.

This has nothing to do with being the establishment party, because if that was a yard stick MQM was groomed by the establishment. This is about the peace and security of Karachi, and its essential that Rangers be given the extra powers. The last thing we want is to go back to the times when MQM and PPP were running havoc across Karachi and killing dozens of people everyday. I know you as an MQM supporter you are severely against the operation in Karachi, and want to go back to the good ole days when MQM ruled Karachi with guns, but times have changed.

Well thats good what they are doing but I think lets not kid ourselves. The real purpose here is really to gain sympathy to one day come in power. Get use to this. Pakistani politicians always look for shortcuts.
