Pakistan needs 20 administrative units, insists Rizvi
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi insisted that Pakistan needed 20 new administrative units across the country for better governance.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, Rizvi said that Altaf Hussain never talked about the division of Sindh.
“New administrative units are created all over the world. India has witnessed massive developments due to new units,” he said. “Wherever population surpasses 5 million voters, new units are set up,” he explained.
The MQM leader said PPP and PML-N too stressed on the need for creation of new provinces in their manifestos.
He lamented that PTI leader Nadir Leghari opposed the creation of new units in Sindh. “PTI talks a lot about naya Pakistan. “Good governance and local government election are not part of PTI’s naya Pakistan,” he questioned.
The PML-N has committed the establishment of Saraiki and Hazara provinces in its manifesto, he added.
