PTI all set to bring 'Azadi container' on roads

Your point of view is interesting and logical as well. There can be different perspectives in two different minds depending upon the nature of exposure and ways of thinking.

In this movement some people left PTI, many joined Imran Khan for his struggle against corrupt mafias. I don't claim khan cann't commit any mistake. My point is to whom you will like to vote in next elections and why? In democracy we have options to choose lesser evil.
I hope better party rises by that time... but if the same trend continues, it will be purely based on the performance on this present mandate. We will know what has PTI done in KP in 5 years, Poster League in Punjab and Federation and Masoom/yateem-party in Sindh.

Better party you mean Musharraf :) ? lets see .

. .
It could be you!

Most people in Pakistan takes politics as second religion. I give a damn to politics & politicians for as long as it does not fit on my principles. If you campaign well, I would vote for you

Thank God man of principle do exist in our society. Although all people follow different sets of principle but your principles of equality and justice are central point of conflict between PTI and ruling party PMLN. Although he sacrificed Courtesy to teach them some lessons during his struggle because for extraordinary results you need extraordinary reason. And recounting is the extraordinary result in the history of Pakistan. As all political parties declared all elections rigged soon after the result but no post election audit ever since 1947.

We are changing our history.

.
Instead of supporting your argument with sound logic you can maintain different point of view.

Lets agree to disagree

It is another claim that he destroyed lot of support and respect for those who participated. It is debatable as well.

since you couldn't support your first claim that it was failed campaign i think you will not like to support your second claim as well

i maintain my stance

lets agree to disagree

It did fail. All one needs to do is recall and post sources for these aims that PTI drew up during the events.

Remember those deadlines? And those demands? The million man tsunami that would march past all Islamabad institutions and overrun them?

The initial demands were not too unreasonable. Investigation in to the conduct of the general elections, which included, investigating NS' win, Chief Justice's role, caretaker government's role in the outcome, and supposed evidence of discrepancies and fraud. Later you asked for judicial enquiries into people named under the above who took part in the caretaker government and members of PMLN and NS' cabinet.

You also asked for electoral reform and graduation of the voting process at polling level, which as a very good demand, I fully support it.

And then the wacky part came, asking for formal resignation of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, calls for government to be removed, parliament to be dissolved. Which then transpired into a weird mix of calls for re-election and threats to overthrow the government with force, come hell, high water, or police. All this you asked for at a time where Pakistan was only just looking to recover from 5 years of hell under the PPP, and at a time where revolutions in the ME had almost always lead to mass civil unrest and civil war, on-going civil war.

Now look at the above. These objectives started off somewhat reasonable and became ridiculous very fast. This entire episode of protests were orchestrated by those who wished to bring about a coup, most notable some retired generals. Though you and other common folk can't see what happens behind closed doors.

Also, to talk about the idea that IK/PTI/TuQ lost credibility and support after this is very true.
You're talking to a former PTI supporter right now, I officially quit PTI at that very time. And I'm not alone, huge swaths of supporters quit, loyalists are too blind to use their critical thinking when it comes to their leaders.

edit: I did not know this was posted before, but to add to my argument, here's some more background:

The motives of anarchy march were:
  • Resignation of Nawaz Sharif
  • Humiliation of PML-N
  • Khalifa Imran Khan self-declaring himself as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The people must absorb the reality (don't take my words as Imran Khan continued to praise himself and declaring himself Prime Minsiter Imran Khan.. always remind me about the Caliph of ISIS when I hear his speech)
In order to achieve this goal, they wanted

  • to weaken the government --- failed
  • to encourage foreign investors to run away --- failed
  • to boycott government entities by not paying utility bills and not abiding by the law - failed
  • call for anarchy & civil disobedience - failed
  • to weaken the economy --- target partially achieved as Pakistan only lost few hundred billion rupees but didn't become as weak as projected
  • people to take state institutions so the martial law could be imposed temporarily - failed thanks to Army
  • to see violence and deteriorating situation to pave the way for Army to intervene - failed
What we did get to see is the longest music show and dance parties in the history of Pakistan. New dance steps by the K-P Chief Minister on the week when his province was heavily inflicted by rain and thunderstorm and many people had died and became homeless. The internal rift between the party members coming on limelight and even the former President resigning in the middle of anarchy march by not been able to consume the awful reality and consequences of anarchy march.

The electoral system, judicial commission and co is just a face saving effort by PTI. The other parties didn't say much after the dharna was ended as they didn't want to see the repeat of same rona dhona again n again. PTI on the last days was so weak that their jalsa's were being attended by few hundred people only. So much for the Pakistan's so-called/self proclaimed largest party.

All this could have been possible if the Army had intervened, but they were too busy in tackling with serious issues of Pakistan that PTI had to go away after 4 months of embarrassment.

Tsunami to sweep upcoming local body election. In Sha Allah.
Good strategy Khan Sb.

I agree about these discussions and many high ranking official advocated so. But at the same time if i disagree with the notion that entire episode of protests were orchestrated by those who wished to bring about a coup. Many people supported this series of protest but it doesn't means they were in favor of coup less one odd person. Infact neither Khan was in favor of coup nor military.

And don't consider TUQ as ordinary person, not talking about his public image.

I'm sure you don't want a coup, but a few people pulling the strings during that time sure wanted one, some retired generals included.

He soiled any such image anyway, when he had one joke revolution and then another joke revolution, only the joke became distasteful when his mobs beat policemen and he openly called for blood.

Recall circumstances of 14 august 2014 and developing situation in couple of months. I think we must honor the sacrifices of our two heroes even if they committed few mistakes during heat of the battle. Both are good assets.

They may be your heroes but not mine. IK was good in my books until this time. But calling for unrest is no good, and calling for blood. Both of them did it. TuQ forced those poor women, children and elderly to travel so far, and then stay for weeks in that place.

His actions first in Model Town, then this, directly led to the deaths of people. His crowds caused immense intentional and unintentional damage to the city of Islamabad and to public property. His supporters stormed PTV too.

His actions probably led to a few deaths among his supporter camp, and his presence clogged the streets, ambulances couldn't make it to their mark, and newer estimates say some $6 billion USD worth of damage to the economy was sustained.

Both IK and TuQ successfully soiled their life's work and image in a few weeks of madness.

They are retying a failed strategy. It backfired once and will do so again. Sheeda is back with his recipes.

Do enlighten us as to how it 'failed' or 'backfired'...? If it had failed, Imran Khan would still be at the container in D-Chowk and Nawaz Sharif and his darbaaris would not have gone on record to say 'we will do everything to bring PTI back in the national assembly'. Judicial Commission was a direct and fruitful result of the 126 Azadi Dharna, not to mention the multiplier effect of raising awareness among Pakistanis with regards to their right to free, fair and transparent elections.

It wasn't a revolution by any means. It was a failed puppet show. Revolutions don't come with some 3-5K odd people dancing in concerts. Revolution is far more blood thirsty and broader phenomenon.

By your own theories then, the Pakistan movement was not a revolutionary thing because against all odds, Jinnah carved out Pakistan pretty peacefully.

Silly excuses. I am alarmed at the fact that you have no word of criticism for Punjab police or Shahbaz Sharif for gunning down unarmed protesters in Model Town but have everything to say against Imran Khan and TuQ. I guess Gullu Butt was TuQ and Imran Khan's doing as well. Or the blind disabled folks protesting for their right to employment and services who were brutally beaten up by Punjab police.

The only unfortunate incident from the dharna was TuQ supporters storming PTV. That's about it. All your other charges against Imran Khan are frivolous.

i believe PTI is trying to pressurise Judicial commision , my suggestion is that gove should take back presidential ordinance and should put and end to judicail commision because if it is to be decided on roads there is no need of this judicial commision .
