Proposal to have female cheerleaders in PSL matches turned down

, the PSL secretariat had suggested that cheerleaders should perform during the PSL 4 matches.

“The franchise owners were assured the female cheerleaders would be wearing proper eastern dresses and would not wear anything objectionable and they would perform in one corner of the ground where the matches are to be held,” according to a source in the PCB which was quoted by the report.

However, the franchise owners turned it down.

The franchise owners, as per the report, rejected the proposal “objecting to them having to shell out USD 14,000 dollars and… because they felt the presence of cheerleaders would not be helpful in enhancing the popularity and following of the league.”

The PSL 2019 kicks off from February 14 in Dubai and will run for roughly a month, with Karachi hosting the final on 17th March 2019. 34 matches will be played in the PSL 4. Lahore and Karachi will share eight matches between them at the later stage of the 32-day event.

what purpose would they serve?
personally I find that degrading for women, are the women only left too cheer on men?
women should be given their own sport to play, and women sports should be encouraged

I say male cheerleaders for women sports

Since Ladies have no problem in dancing in Shadi situation no problem to take that talent into Cheer leading , talent is just waiting to be discovered

I don't have problem with Cheer leaders since it is all done anyways

There is duel conflict in Pakistani society , they love music and dance , in private or behind doors and are just itching to show off their talent but when there is talk of show casing the talent they get all defensive , oh my , cheer leader , dancers in Pakistani Cricket Tournament

I just find enough evidence exist to support , my claim dancing / expression of joy or expressive motions have been part of our culture but we just don't admit it

Pakistanis are willing to showcase their talents when given a chance (TV, STAGE , LIVE)
Pakistanis have been experimenting with music since 70's all brand of rock music since 90's

A majority of them know few songs by heart , just evident when a Reporter stops them in mall and asks them to sing for audience

Pakistanis are asked to dance on stage shows in , game shows , and every one is more then eager to impress the public

Being a cheer leader does not makes you less of a person
