We have different doctrine then China/Russia which relying on speed to overwhelm western defenses, we more focusing more on RCS reduction tech and subsonic and precision than speed, supersonic missiles especially Anti ship has less reaction time then subsonic one but disadvantages of Supersonic/Hpersonic Missiles that they will detected by Hundreds of Miles away from the targets by Radars and IR sensors there are many SAMs that could intercept supersonic missiles like like LY-80 we have, USN has RAM and Evolved Sea sparrow/ UK developing CAMM and Chinese have FL-3000N for Intercepting supersonic anti ship missiles, and supersonic anti ship Cruise missiles are not a true sea skimmer

Does China have access to F-35 tech? No. So China can be ruled out.

Turkey has been involved with the F-35 project, so, Pakistan can learn a lot from Turkey's fifth gen fighter.

Just like F-16 was the reference point for the JF-17 project, so shall the F-35 be the reference point for PF-65 Sultan project.

I remembered once around 7 to 8 years go if I am not wrong china hacked into Lockheed's data and took away a lot of input from f 35...

Bro please tell me how many air to ground Missiles/smart munitions F-22 can carry in its weapon bays, F-22 only can carry 8 small diameter bombs or 2 JADAM in its main weapon bay along 2 AMRAAM

What if they make 5th gen backbone and get 6th gen off the shelf???

5th gen backbone can be created by a 4.5++ gen medium weight fighter. We can flirt with stealth properties untill we have solid know how. Going directly for a 5th gen would take a very long time and even would be expensive. Remember that russia and china are still facing problems with 5th gen, which means it would take us a very long time getting through all that.
Imagine 5 years from now india gets F35, what would we do then? Our own 5th gen would have long time to get ready and india would have an upper hand. So we would end up buying 5th gen from china anyway. So the best option would be to work ona 4.5++ gen medium weight fighter, that would take the bulk of PAF load in future and should india buy F35s, we can procure chinese 5th gen to counter it while at same time developing our knowhow.

What if I said we are targeting the 6th gen and foregoing the 5th gen---!

As for the J20---it meets the needs of our arena---there is no need for super cruise---.

In a talk with media CoAS said that F-22 was built in 1997 based on that time tech and requirements and PAF is looking for 5.5 gen bird as at the time of induction US will be upgrading its 5th gen birds to 5.5 gen at least.

Other than Pakistan's own JF-17 Thunders, PAF has not acquired another foreign platform since 1988. That's 31 years.

And, PAF has ruled out adding another foreign platform to it's platform.

How is it that Pakistan has managed to produce 121 JF-17 Thunders for its own air force when the economic situation of the nation tells us, it shouldn't even be possible for a third world country like Pakistan?

The Block-3 will be more advanced than any of the F-16s in Pakistan's inventory. How is that even possible for a third world country like Pakistan which shouldn't have the industrial base for it? Why is it that no one has even seen a single photo of the Block-3 yet but it'll be with PAF from March 2020 onwards?

Pakistan is committed, determined and ambitious enough to build its own fifth generation fighter and it will do it Insha'Allah.

This is the wrong concept by most common peoples here that any fighter can take off with weapon payload, with this payload F-22 can't but just crawl on the tarmac, Fighter jets are fly their mission with specific weapons to intended mission, Fighter jets are not able to carry all its intended Payloads at once
