Is youtube banned in China?


I guess only the scales are different. Youtube is essentially an American company i.e. part of the Google so they can do it to anyone regardless of right or wrong. But it has global presence and audience. Non-western countries do not have a competitive solution so we can all complain but the fact remains it is US company

The purpose is to point out Western media hypocrisy. Whether China has free speech or not is irrelevant. Just like terror-infested Pakistan or anyone can talk about Indian treatment of Kashmiris.

Youtube is denied an official presence as it didn't comply with media rules, but anyone can access it with VPN, most Chinese people do. Govt is fully aware.

Chinese media uses youtube to broadcast Chinese news to the world, which otherwise wouldn't be available. It also provides a counter-perspective to one-sided western media.

Madrassa education + western media is a lethal combination.

For people complaining about freedom of speech
China does not allow freedom of speech so why is China angry when they get shut down?
It's perfectly consistent with their ideology stop freedom of speech.

Unlike what youtube did in China, Chinese members didn't violate any youtube rules. They still got banned simply because youtube doesn't like what they said. Ironically the reason why youtube refused to obey Chinese laws is they claimed to respect the Freedom of Speech.

But as you already said youtube is banned in China... so how can you claim it comes to China? Because it is on internet mate and you go there with your VPNs and all the other stuff to reach youtube.
Furthermore, stop lying idiot. Non-Muslim Women do not have to wear scarf in Muslim countries except Iran and KSA and get some education that there are 50+ Muslim countries in the world so how did you generalise. The US government did not shut this account down; YouTube did, and it must have provided the reasons showing a violation of the terms of its use, just like Twitter did when shutting PDF accounts down.

And the American do indeed have a mechanism for periodic changes of their government. It is called elections, perhaps you have heard of them?

Which puts China in a very hostile international environment in a US dominant world. China is the major target of US propaganda weapons. Our poeple would rather sacrifice part of their freedom and right to make our country stable and strong.

Well most of the govt try to do the same. After 9/11 false flag attacks, US govt snatched a lot of freedom from the people and many European countries are doing the same and they are using technology but the extent and ways are different.

So what. We still support CPC. Talk doesn't make progress. China is probably the only one country in the world that dare challenge US from economy to ideology. Bro, it is so strange that we support them and provide them a platform to discuss despite the fact that PDF is banned or blocked in their country. And some of them cannot differentiate between the freedom of speech and they abuse our religion and country.. and still claiming to be our friends... how does it work. I think what they fail to understand is that individuals can have different opinions than main stream and they are free to express. PDF is a discussion forum and here every type of person comes to discuss and expresses his or her opinion but they all have to follow certain rules to keep the discussion healthy and productive.

Yes, I have heard of that great grand exercise called Elections. I believe my country has it too.

In the great American setting every five years, the enlightened citizens are given ( by the establishment ) a golden chance to elect as President someone from the Republican Party or the only other Party - the Democrats. What joy !!

Even Elon Musk is wrong of course for suggesting Direct Democracy to be the political system for the near-future Mars settlements.
